I'm practical, stubborn, honest and call things as I see them . The number of my friends are small for reason of comfort and respect those who are honest and down to earth. I enjoy the simple life, home cooked meals, good conversation, time with friends, thrift stores, reading and the farmers market. Rural country living is my preference I choose my friends wisely and these are honest people with strong convictions who believe in themselves and others and who are intelligent , philosophical, deep thinkers, with a twist of humor thrown in and who can tell a good story or a joke and keep you smiling.
Turn offs: People who come on strong, who carry drama in their lives and want to contaminate yours ! One sided individuals, those who justify their mistakes by blaming others. People who don't believe in God or second chances....
Woodstock_: Something mentioned over coffee this morning. " The Weismann barrier, proposed by August Weismann, is the strict distinction between the "immortal" germ cell lineages producing gametes and "disposable" somatic cells, in contrast to Charles Darwin's proposed pangenesis mechanism for inheritance. "
Woodstock_: Good morning, everybody ! The working week has gone pretty well without a hitch. That's without saying, I've been stuck in a mid-career rut, suppose we all go through this at one time or another. " there must be more to this and am I cheating myself out of what could be ? " Christa has taken the day from Wal- Mart to rest and work on crocheting , watching Court TV and Eight Simple Rules. I hope all is well with everyone and may this day bring peace and comfort of both heart and mind.
Woodstock_: Good morning, everybody I hope this week will be an easy one for you Christa is sleeping peacefully while last night I dreamt of spiders crawling over me. whatever the heck that was about ? Must have something to do with getting older I sit at the kitchen table with Marlboros and coffee researching Darwinism ~ the theory of evolution of species by natural selection ~
also its five points "evolution as such", common descent, gradualism, population speciation, and natural selection. And the difference between Darwinism and Social Darwinism ~ the first being where nature decides which species are best fit to fill the environment and reproduce ~ whereas the latter is simply " SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST. "
Woodstock_: Good morning ! I hope this day brings many blessings to you both small and great. Christa sits at the kitchen table crocheting and watching ghost investigations, the coffee's on and talking time warp, vertigo, third and fourth dimensions. Oh, and a copy of the 1800 and 1832 edition of Mary Shelly's " Frankenstein " arrived yesterday, too ! That's going to be some great reading over science, religion, medical ethics, human anatomy, search for truth and the human condition among other things. I almost feel my place is a virtual plethora of books !!
Woodstock_: talk over evening coffee .. " The Fall of Man and the transition from obedience to guilty disobedience, the book of Genesis, Christianity, and the words Adam spoke after his fall, " Did I request thee, Maker, from my day to mold me man ? Did I solicit thee from darkness to promote me ? " And the doctrine of the fall related to the original sin, and the book of Ezekiel." ,,
Woodstock_: Good morning I hope this day is a happy one for you, too. As usual, while Christa does the Wal Mart thing today, while I'm left home alone with my own vices. Never do we make holidays a big occasion for us its just another day of the week. Life is kept simple and close to home and always busy with housekeeping, documentaries, or crocheting projects she often occupies her time with. The new year hasn't yet arrived though personal goals and changes are being laid which are long overdue for both of us. I hope this day brings you peace and comfort of heart and mind concerning all things great and small. Thank you for being who you are, most importantly and assuredly for your friendship. To everyone, sky, Stone, Storm, Lass, Giga and all to many to name, have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
Woodstock_: YouTube .. ( This song was discussed one morning over coffee with a friend during a joint conversation. The talk explored belief in Buddhism, universal oneness, Tibetan philosophy and the book " Paradise Lost " by author James Hilton. The word Om is defined as.. " 'Om', 'Ohm' or 'Aum' is a sacred sound that is known generally as the sound of the universe. Om is all encompassing, the essence of ultimate reality, and unifies everything in the universe.
"The thought manifests as the word; The word manifests as the deed; The deed develops into habit; And habit hardens into character; So watch the thought and its ways with care, And let it spring from love born out of concern for all beings. As the shadow follows the body, As we think, so we become." ... ~ The Buddha ~
Woodstock_: Interesting talk over coffee this morning .. " Sir Isaac Newton, Nostradamus, Alchemy, symbolism within the Bible, Zionism, 1942-44, the books of Daniel and Revelation, The Last of Days and the interpretation of day within biblical text, the temple of Sodom and the coming Apocalypse. Hope everyone is blessed today in both small and great ways,, see you later ..
Woodstock_: Christa and I experienced a sad loss this morning. Our Beta " Mr. Wiggles " passed away peacefully and was laid to rest in the garden. Safe journey
Woodstock_: After twenty games of Chess with several stalemates, draws and losses.. finally a win after an intense eight minutes and thirty one seconds. I need
Name Of The Game - Badfinger ( over morning coffee and a high this song and the sad history of the group was discussed with a friend, its an old favorite. )
Woodstock_: Good morning I wish hope and blessings to everyone and this day brings you a laugh or even a smile or two Christa loves her dad and busy doing the Wal Mart thing, crocheting, watching National Geographic, History, Ancient Aliens and Court Tv so she can secretly conspire as to how to do away with me and get away with it.. Work at the school is another matter. This morning the kindergarten teachers will be excited to see that none of their carpets have been vacuumed in any of 15 classrooms ! For the simple reason, a sweeper stopped working and why bother using one of the other seven that are available ? Just grab a chair in the breakroom and play on the phone for the remaining two hours of your shift That's logical ( Crap like that makes the rest of us look bad. ) Oh, and dealing with a horny teacher always trying to get my attention I love my job !
