This is a collection of what I consider to be the best of the nearly 1300 photos I posted that year. At the time I posted the, I was using a malfunctioning monitor, and with that as my reference, those photos were processed rather poorly. The monitor has been replaced, and the pictures look far better now.

I hope you’ll have a look.

Yes, Dilly. You did, indeed, post it yesterday.

Here's what happened (a lengthy explanation that's going to be boring) ...

You've probably noticed that anytime I make one of these Albums, I always go through the same routine with fashioning a little "announcement" with the "wall" notification, saying that the Album is "currently under construction," and using the same black and red "slides" to explain to newcomers what I'm trying to accomplish with my Albums, etc.

Of course, once I begin posting pictures, a notification is generated, which appears on the "wall" of all of my friends. After the album is finished, I delete that notification, and replace it with another.

Why do I do that?

Because that first notification (the one that always shows the last four images posted in the Album) can (theoretically) cause confusion for viewers. When I make an Album, I intentionally put the pictures in a particular order. They're meant to be viewed in a particular order. The point is that ideally, people will view the album by going to the BEGINNING of it, and working through to the END of it.

That "last-four-images" notification works contrary to that ideal I'm always going for. It shows pictures, and people that might be interested in looking at that Album naturally might click on one of those pictures to see it. And entering the Album that way puts them at the END of the Album, not at the beginning. So they might wind up viewing it in reverse order, or only see the last few images, etc.

So as one of the last steps in constructing an Album, I delete that "last-four-images" notification, and replace it with a notification that has only one single black and red image - an image that gives very simple, direct instructions to go to the BEGINNING of the Album in that black and red lettering I use on all of these things. I also compose a little "preview" of sorts, and attach that as a comment (just like the first comment at the top of this comment string).

Doing all of that serves several functions:

~ It alerts people that the (first) notification is for an Album that isn't yet finished while I'm in the process of posting it.
~ It replaces that "last-four-images" notification with a cleaner, simpler "This Album is finished" notification, which hopefully steers people to the BEGINNING of the Album, so that it gets viewed in order (very critical in some Albums - less so in others)
~ It presents a brief "preview" telling a little bit about what the Album is about

But every once in a while, Wireclub actually MALFUNCTIONS (Gee, what else is new?), and for some reason, I discover a short time later that the simpler, cleaner, better functioning "replacement" notification has disappeared, and been replaced by the old one, with the "last-four-images." And then, I have to delete that thing, delete my very last image (the one above these comments), and re-post that image, and replace the little preview. (It's actually pretty quick and easy to do that.)

Dilly, you posted your comment, and then Wireclub had one of those occasional malfunctions. So in the process of my correcting that (as described above), your initial comment got lost.

I told ya it would be boring ...

You probably did wait until it was finished. But Wireclub malfunctioned, and because of that, I had to tweak it to get my obsessively compulsively perfect notification just exactly perfect.

Regardless, I appreciate that you're bothering to look, and leave the nice comments.
