Stiritup: Every year they test the smoke alarms in the building. They give us a notice the day before, so that we can all freak out and clean our apartments. The notice says around 8 AM, so I'm usually up by 7:30. Because of the busybody routine the day before the alarm, and the early wake up time, I always get tired around 10:30 when they haven't showed up yet, so I lay down on the couch. Then as soon as I start to drift off to sleep, the fire alarms go off. The fire alarms are way loud. They always shock the shit out of me.
