But there's lots of trolls on wire, and sometimes they're fun to poke. But I felt that this was a pretty low and exploitive con.
He sent me a picture of his supposed bank account, and I reverse image searched and found the same picture on the advertisement for a mobile banking app.

But I did have fun with it. It wasn't a situation where I ever felt uncomfortable, because it was clear that it was a scam from the beginning and it was humorous to me to absurdly negotiate. He said he was in the real estate industry, so there were a lot of jokes about Earnest money deposits, inspection contingencies when he kept talking about the size of the "downstairs", closing costs, credit reporting. I was amused and he was NOT amused, which made me more amused.
This happened for a few minutes every night for a few nights. But in the wee hours of this morning when I couldn't sleep, he messaged me and the language turned more coercive and manipulative. It wouldn't work on me, I know it's a scam, I don't need money. But I wanted to share it because I know desperate people sometimes are more inclined to take more desperate risks, and I didn't want someone like this preying on someone like that.
Anyway, I'm all good, I was laughing, just didn't want to ignore it if it possibly alerted someone else who needed to be alerted.
