Mike + The Mechanics - The Living Years (Official Video)
Say it loud (say it loud), say it clear (oh say it clear)
You can listen as well as you hear
It's too late (it's too late) when we die (oh when we die)
To admit we don't see eye to eye
I can't think of a better song to conclude AHS 1984. Perfect.
As an intellectual vibration,
Smack dab in the middle of spectrum,
Green can be a problem,
That's because there's so many different greens, inside of Green and each one has a different IQ,
There's the green that should never have happened:
The "stupid green."
The green that is "green with envy."
Then there's the "so-so green, " the "who-cares-anyway?" green
But somewhere in Green,
Is a green here and there that has something to say:
A truly intelligent green,
A green with some integrity,
That's the kind of green for you and me
There's a green to be seen with: vivid, vibrant, living alive!
We should spend the better part of our time,
Yours and mine,
With a green like this
Maybe some of it would rub off
Sailor_Mercury in reply to TurtleOnTheFarm: Yeah, Ally McBeal was a joy for its time. Like other shows from the 90s era, it treated certain topics a bit ham handedly, but it was earnest and progressive in many other respects too.
I think the show was particularly brilliant in showing the tight rope women walk when they are as invested in love as Ally is. Instead of the pressures of working within a firm hardening her, she stays connected to the music in her life, her dream world. In a society that is constant with its ways of making people feel isolated, it's a much needed reminder of what makes us alive in the first place.
