My dad was US Navy as well. Served at Key West NAS during the Korean War as a parachute rigger and then as an instrument panel tech on the old TV-2 Navy trainer aircraft. They were not allowed to go over to Cuba but he and two sailors did, took the ferry over to the island for a day. I used to have a pic of him and his buddies in a Havana bar in their "Cracker Jack" uniforms.
