Mom would drive us every summer up to St. Louis to watch my beloved Cardinals in action. Only problem was I don't think any of the games I attended they won .. In fact, I remember them getting a 12-2 pasting by the Reds in one of them. The team was so pissed - I remember coming across Jose Cruz (outfielder) in the multilevel parking garage right after the game, and he was refusing to even sign autographs, being in such a bad mood. But, mom went to bat for me and "shamed" him into giving me one, on the back of an instamatic photo I had taken during the game . .. I remember she said something in his direction like, "all those millions of $$ and you can't sign an autograph for a kid?" LOL ..
