the truth is naked
as you scream
naked always
in a dream
stripped of virtue,
hatred,
pain
stripped of valor,
naked,
vain
the high and mighty
stoop too low
no place where
they want to go
faces, traces,
places. spaces
interactions,
fractions,
factions
thru the mirror
river rises
every shape
all the sizes
wonder what
the final prize is
be prepared
for all surprises
wisdom on
perilous courses
each act is
controlled by forces
some too ancient
to understand
too high up
to dare to land
every door
flung open wide
take a chance
to step inside
comes the widow
comes the bride
comes the lifetime
reckless ride
the naked dream
returns once more
to enter thru
a different door
remnants of
the final war
the clever child
the aging sage
both trapped in
a cageless cage
escape is but
illusions dreams
as they dance
to vapid themes
and then the light
at last is shown
the tale itself
in great strides grown
people moving,
proving,
soothing
new way of thinking,
drinking,
sinking
and all around
thru holes
they’ve fallen
as if an unheard
warning calling
