The Facts of Life

My life story. It's Easter! I sure have fantastic memories of growing up as a Christian and celebrating the resurrection of my Lord Jesus. Our risen Savior!

Today while I am pondering these memories a story came on TV about life, but more focused towards the taking of life. It went to the subject of abortion. So many debates going on, so much confusion.

But, I know about life. I gave birth three times. I can tell you what I went through each stage of the way. I'll never forget, and my children are in their mid to late thirties. I won't forget the day they came into the world, nor will I forget the day they moved inside me and I knew there was another body, another person, living inside of me! Hallelujah!

Baby number one was a trip! I puked and puked, but the doctor could not find the reason for this sudden and unexplained illness. I became so sick at work, which was conveniently the hospital, that I took myself through ER and even followed up later with my own GP. Unexplained, found nothing, no reason to be dying at such an early age.

Finally doc said, "I think you are pregnant."

Urinalysis, negative, ultra-sound, 2x, negative. It was time to do more exploratory tests. A scope was used to look into the fallopian tube to ensure there was no ectopic pregnancy, which can be fatal if not discovered early enough to correct. That was negative, too. No ectopic pregnancy, no pregnancy found. Doc said, "Well, you probably are, but we'll just have to see you again in a few weeks to confirm it.. "

My doctor was not able to confirm the pregnancy until the 4th month or so, and by that time I was feeling life within. The "Quickening" it is called.

This is the baby it's legal to kill -
I lay on my bed in the bright sunlight one morning. I'd been very nauseated and often vomited. WAY TOO often! This morning I had eaten my soda cracker breakfast and just relaxed on my tummy across the bed. FYI - those who do not know, soda crackers is the opiate of pregnant women, absorbs the stomach acids that make us puke..

As I lay there, partially on my side, mostly on my tummy, something crawled right between me and the bed! I felt it! I even looked, and then I knew and I smiled. The quickening had come. I felt my little baby boy move inside me. By the end of my pregnancy, the little football player within made his presence known daily and on a regular basis. I was grateful when he finally slept. In the beginning I did not know what to expect. With my second pregnancy I was able to detect her movement quite early. I recognized what felt like bubbles. Tiny "gas bubbles" one would think at first. And as I said, HER movement, which was not as intense at any time as the football player I had carried previously.
That boy kept one foot in my rib cage all through the ninth month! Bless his heart. Maybe that's why he bought me a car for Mother's Day a few years ago?

Skip to birth - NEW BIRTH - Easter
My son was born! It was a natural delivery so no drugs were induced to either me or the child. He came out alert and active. Doctor laid my baby boy on my chest and I said hello. He immediately turned his head and looked into my face. I watched him s he focused in on my features and smile. I saw him respond to my voice. He "searched" me. We were connected. We were finally meeting face to face.

There are studies that try to define this connection of mother and baby. Some scientists say they have proven that the mother and the child's brain waves are even connected. She is the source of his life. He draws from her until he is ready to live on his own.

I've heard so much lately. I just wanted you to hear these facts of life from me. Choose life!
