pastortim: Tribute to Francis Asbury By Late Great Leonard ravenhill!

My friends diesel car did 125,000 miles without fault. Wesley Road the length and breath of England though England is not as large as one state of Pennsylvania in the great America. Now we see Francis Asbury Who rode over 270,000 miles by horseback. This man was rooted to his horses saddle. Yet he never murmured as he rode through the un-chartered swamps, how many times he was stuck in the mud and had to lead the horse out of the swamp or escape drowning in them by the skin of his teeth, we will never know. there were night less penetrations into the pathless forests. Often it was impossible to find drinking water but his thirst for Souls was greater than the thirst of his parched tongue.

it was good that Francis Asbury had memorize great hymns, whereas he rode a long, he sang them. And they fortified his soul against the barrage of Temptations that were his. Here he was thousands of miles from his home, wifeless foodless, at times, sleepless in more often, company- less. Money less, not quite, he carried all this great load for the princely remuneration of $64 a year.

Taken from Leonard Ravenhill 's Book Sodom had no Bible 1971

We would do good who are in the Faith today, to remind ourselves, at what Cost this Gospel we have today was given to us at the hands of great men like Francis Asbury, John Wesley, and the Great Apostle Paul ,most definitely. They cry out to us from Heaven urging us on to go the distance, to give all our life, to not squander Youth away on frivolous things that matter not, but to take up the torch of Preaching this Gopel to the ends of the Earth, then the end shall come!
