pastortim: There was a day we packed it in to pray. Today is not that day!
In the old testament, GOD said he searched for an intercessor – he looked for a man to stand in the gap, and make up the hedge. But found no one. THE days have become evil. And while there is a spark of light here or there, by far churches have lost the cry of intercessory prayer. The watchmen have left their post, and turned to the world.
I remember a day when prayer meeting was the greatest time in the church, people came hungry, seeking, wanting a deeper life with CHRIST. They cried, sought GOD for a move of the Spirit in their homes and families. - today is not that day! We are a Church age that believes in do nothing sermons, and cheap watered down prayers to hopefully reach heaven.
The days of old were days when people came to Church believing expecting they could meet GOD in prayer, and get a hold of the SPIRIT to meet their needs, and praise the LORD! Needs were indeed met.
But this is not that day. We are a generation in whom the Savior declared was a faithless and unbelieving generation, the very fact we gave up on Sunday night service to please the modern generations need for more fleshly time is evidence of this. The fruit is evidenced by the fact prayer meeting has been replaced with self-help, feel good meetings that tickle the ears of the listeners, and dulls the conscience.
True HOLY GHOST PRAYING would shake the dead bones of this faithless generation to their knees. True Revival of intercession would ignite a true fire for CHRIST and would blow the dust off the barren altars of our churches. But this is not that day!
I LONG, I DESIRE for a true revival of praying and intercession, so once again we could say this is that day! A day we go to CHURCH and see people crying out for the LORD TO MOVE, that our hearts would plead for a move of GOD. Only that will bring about an awakening that will stir the dead dry bones back to life again.
I pray today will be that day!
