If you like him, check this one out: View all 5 posts found lamb: - Piper at the Gates of Dawn is Sid's album. It has these short quirky songs that make the cosmic weirdness more palatable. Without Sid Floyd was mostly Waters truly dark vision of people and society. Which was great until The Wall album and then it just got tired and repetitive. I couldn't stand that album. Wish You Were Here is actually an album about Sid. Animal's is a rip off of George Orwell's "Animal Farm" with Gilmore's guitar. After Animals Waters just ran out of ideas. oldesmileyjones: also can't stand The Wall ... do not understand it's popularity was weird, as someone who grew with PF from womb days, to later realise how much of their work was basically guilt expiation/ dirge/ eulogy for Sid (not *Syd) found lamb: agreed - The Wall is awful. According to David Gilmore, Waters brought in a rough cut of the whole thing on cassette tape. The band thought it was unintelligible trash. Actually, I'd rather listen to In A Gadda Da Vida than Echoes. Echoes is like taking a trip to a mental ward and finding you've been locked in! |
