Duality Meditation

For this technique, you need to assume a comfortable position, relax every muscle of your body, and then as any thought or image comes, you think of an opposite thought, image.
For example, if you have a thought “it’s late”, you think then “it’s early”. If you think of an elephant, you immediately think of its opposite, a mouse, perhaps. There is no need to spend too much time on trying to find the opposite. And if you can’t think of an opposite, you just think “No” to that thought or image and move on with the practice. How this practice works, is the opposites neutralize each other, and the person is left with the silent mind, when mind is in a clear and receptive way and the consciousness is what is present and active. Human mind is said to have 49 different levels in each person, so it may appear silent on the surface, but it’s not really silent deep down. The practice of meditation like this duality technique helps to really silence one’s mind.
