Random Road Trip

My girl's birthday weekend. We decided to go somewhere overnight (or two). But where? I picked up an 8-sided die and rolled what direction we would travel in. We wound up in Bozeman... eventually. We took the long way to get there, but the journey sure was beautiful.
When we got to Bozeman we spent our time drinking beer & whiskey with lots of hiking. We had a great relaxing time.
Plus, they have an excellent retro video game store and I got a good deal on some NES & GameCube games. Woo hoo.

Opening Day

Baseball is my favorite sport. Yes, it can be boring if it's a slow paced game, but I just love the amount of sheer skill involved. I always thought that this was a sport that I could play. I'm not tall enough for basketball or big enough for football, but if I was good enough I could play baseball.
And the best part of the beginning of the season? The Mets aren't mathematically eliminated yet! Go Mets!

Basketball

So every year I take some time off to watch the 1st two (real) rounds of NCAA March Madness. I always have a good time watching games uninterrupted and drinking a lot. I checked out a lot of different bars and every place was busy, which was good. I love doing this every year, but by mid-Sunday, i'm basketballed out!
I didn't fill out a bracket this year. I don't like rooting against a team I like just so they can keep my bracket intact. I enjoyed myself more than normal because of that.
My top 3 things from the 1st two rounds: One, Home team Montana got violated, and not in a good way. They played the worst game in the tourny. Two, Oregon. I really didn't know how good they were. Good for them, they are playing with a vengence. Finally, pretender teams. Butler is not, but Gonzaga is.

Make friends before making friends Rant

What's with people asking to added as a friend if you don't even say "Hi." I find it .... pathetic (even if she is cute). Say hello before presuming. I might be a little old fashioned in this regard, but Friends are actually supposed to be friendly.
Without getting into the many reasons why it's a bad idea, I'll just leave it at: If you don't say hi, I'll say good-bye.

Relaxed

Yep. That's right. I had a relaxing day. Why would I possibly write about this? Well, did you ever have one of those days that just goes perfectly? I didn't do anything special at all. Played video games for 1/2 hour with the girl. Went to a friend's for lunch & early drinks. Watched Wreck-it Ralph. Wathced Merlin on Netflix. Took a walk. Had a cigar. It was completely stress free!
...Now I'm just fightig off sleep to avoid stupid work.

Games 1

I'm going to talk games today. .... ...... ......... Actually, I've just been playing Jetpack Joyride & Angry Birds. It's been stressful at work & I just needed some pick up 'n play arcade style stress relief. I'm going to get back to Prince of Persia: Warrior Within & Closure this weekend.
