This leads to colleges lowering their standards for education majors because the smartest kids select other majors. Then these education majors graduate and are shocked at how hard the job of a teacher is. Personally, I think the wrong people are making decisions. Everyone has been a student but if you've never been a teacher, you don't understand what's wrong or how to fix it.
