MiataMike: EXCLUSIVE: Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., is criticizing the Biden administration’s response to Hurricane Helene while warning the price tag for its recovery could be "one of the most expensive" the U.S. has seen.
There were some pretty ominous projections, and so Congress acted appropriately," Johnson told Fox News Digital Friday evening, noting lawmakers freed up roughly $20 billion in immediate funding for FEMA in last month’s short-term federal funding bill. "But, so far, [President Biden, Vice President Harris and Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas] have failed in that response."

MiataMike: Elon Musk slams FEMA over Helene response in North Carolina as SpaceX looks to set up new Starlinks.................."FEMA is not merely failing to adequately help people in trouble, but is actively blocking citizens who try to help!" the billionaire claimed on X.

Musk said he had just received a note from a SpaceX engineer, Starlink’s parent company, in Asheville, North Carolina, who said the company has "powered up two large operating bases for choppers to deliver goods into hands. We’ve deployed 300+ starlinks and outpour is it has saved many lives."

But Musk said the engineer claimed that FEMA is "actively blocking shipments and seizing goods and services locally and locking them away to state they are their own. It’s very real and scary how much they have taken control to stop people helping. We are blocked now on the shipments of new starlinks coming in until we get an escort from the fire dept. but that may not be enough."

MiataMike: Biden says he and Kamala Harris are 'singing from the same song sheet' — as she tries distancing herself
Biden said of Harris, 'she was a major player in everything we've done'
In the president's surprise appearance, he remarked on the port strike, the latest jobs numbers, and briefly on Hurricane Helene. No reporters asked about the administration's response to the storm, but one asked Biden to assess whether Harris has been deeply involved in policy.

"Well, she's, I'm in constant contact with her. She's aware we all, we're singing from the same song sheet. We, she helped pass all the laws that are being employed," said Biden.

MiataMike: Oh, God help us all.
Vice President Kamala Harris will meet with leaders from the Arab American community in Flint, Michigan, on Friday, as her presidential campaign seeks to win back voters angry at U.S. support for Israel's wars in Gaza and Lebanon, two sources said.

Meeting participants include leaders from the Muslim advocacy group Emgage, which recently endorsed Harris, the American Task Force on Lebanon, and a long-standing friend of Harris, Hala Hijazi, who has lost dozens of family members in Gaza, said the sources, who did not wish to be named.

Other such as Jim Zogby, founder of the Arab American Institute and a longtime member of the Democratic National Committee, said he declined the invitation. Leaders from the Uncommitted National Movement protest campaign said they have not been invited to the meeting.

MiataMike: Thousands in N.C. Still Without Water Days After Helene's Destruction.
Tens of thousands of western North Carolina residents remained without running water on Wednesday, six days after Hurricane Helene slammed into Florida and carved a destructive path through much of U.S. Southeast, killing more than 160 people.

The powerful storm inundated the region with catastrophic flooding, destroying pipes, damaging water plants and cutting off power.

As of midday, one-fifth of the 1 million residents in the western half of North Carolina either had no water at all or low system pressure, according to an online state database. Nearly 1.3 million homes and businesses across the Southeast remained without electricity, according to website Poweroutage.us.

MiataMike: Rep. Fallon to Newsmax: Biden, Harris Behind FEMA Shortfall 'Cataclysm'
Reports that the Federal Emergency Management Agency is running short of funds for emergency relief, particularly after announcing earlier this year hundreds of millions of dollars in grants for communities receiving migrants, is a "cataclysm" of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris' "own making," Rep. Pat Fallon told Newsmax on Friday.

"As far as FEMA claiming they don't have money, and Joe Biden saying that he wanted to bring Congress back in to pass something to give FEMA more money, they didn't read the continuing resolution we just passed," the Texas Republican told Newsmax's "Newsline." "It had $20 billion in there specifically for emergency relief, for FEMA. So, I don't know, maybe they could do their jobs and they would know that they actually have the funds."............Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, while en route earlier this week to survey damages left by Hurricane Helene in South Carolina, told reporters earlier this week, however, that FEMA does not have enough money to finish out the rest of this year's hurricane season, reports The New York Times.

"Hey Elon, update here on site of Asheville, NC," Musk said his employee wrote. "We have powered up two large operating bases for choppers to deliver goods into hands. We've deployed 300+ starlinks and outpour is it has saved many lives.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk took to X on Friday afternoon to claim the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is "actively blocking" volunteers who try to help the struggling citizens of western North Carolina in the wake of Hurricane Helene.

"Just received this note from a SpaceX engineer helping on the ground in North Carolina," Musk wrote. "@FEMA is not merely failing to adequately help people in trouble, but is actively blocking citizens who try to help!"

"Hey Elon, update here on site of Asheville, NC," Musk said his employee wrote. "We have powered up two large operating bases for choppers to deliver goods into hands. We've deployed 300+ starlinks and outpour is it has saved many lives.

"The big issue is FEMA is actively blocking shipments and seizing goods and services locally and locking them away to state they are their own," the post continued. "It's very real and scary how much they have taken control to stop people helping. We are blocked now on the shipments of new starlinks coming in until we get an escort from the fire dept. but that may not be enough."

Musk's allegation is not the only report of volunteers being blocked from assisting in the North Carolina rescue operations. A helicopter pilot hailing from South Carolina said he was threatened with arrest over the weekend for his efforts to rescue people trapped in the mountains.

Since making landfall over a week ago, Hurricane Helene has been blamed for the deaths of more than 200 people across several states in the Southeast, including North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Georgia.

MiataMike: The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Inspector General (IG) released a report on Thursday acknowledging that several agencies "did not fully assess risks" associated with releasing millions of illegal immigrants without ID into the interior of the U.S.

The heavily redacted report dated Sept. 30 details colossal lapses in judgment by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) following the haphazard release of millions of noncitizens onto domestic flights based on lax security protocol.

The report stated that according to federal law "noncitizens without ID are not admissible into the country and shall be detained," but that CBP and ICE are permitted to release noncitizens into the U.S. based on various circumstances.

MiataMike: THIS is why SOME of you WILL vote for Kamala.
"NBC Nightly News" was the only prime time network news program on Friday night to report on bombshell new Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) data revealing that over 400,000 illegals immigrants convicted of crimes are currently free in the United States.

Both ABC's "World News Tonight," and the "CBS Evening News" failed to mention any of the findings that ICE presented in a letter to Congress this week that was reported by a variety of other outlets on Friday. They simply covered Vice President Kamala Harris’ trip to Arizona’s border with Mexico and touted her policy proposals for immigration.

Only NBC News' evening newscast mentioned the letter, though it didn’t cover the entire scope of the findings – only reporting that "more than 13,000 migrants previously convicted of homicide are currently free inside the U.S."
