meatpacker: Jules...the size of the hook will make a difference when fishing for trout the same thing goes for whitefish ....I use a number 4 or 3 for fly fishing. Most times Jules they will come to the surface just before the sun goes down or up.If they come to the surface, I try my best to match the fly or whatever they are eating... But the thrill of catching trout on a fly rod & reel....Well it's hard to explain unless you had one on a fly rod......take care
