manof_darkness: I made these tonight and my taste buds are still dancing .THE BEST HOMEMADE EGG ROLLS
INGREDIENTS
1 pound ground pork
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tsp ground ginger
2 cups shredded cabbage
1 small carrot, shredded
1 package (25 7-inch square) egg roll wrappers
2 tbsps flour
2 tbsps water
1 quart peanut or vegetable oil, for frying
your favorite Asian dipping sauce
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Cook the pork and garlic in the vegetable oil until the pork is no longer pink. Stir in the soy sauce, sesame oil, and ground ginger. Set aside to slightly cool.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the pork mixture with the shredded carrots and cabbage. In a small bowl, make a paste out of the flour and water.
3. Lay out an egg roll wrapper with a corner pointed towards you. Place 1/4 cup of the pork and vegetable mixture into the center of the wrapper. Brush the corner farthest from you with the flour paste. Fold the corner closest to you up over the mixture. Fold the left and right corners in towards the center, then tightly roll. The flour paste will help seal the egg roll. Repeat until all of the filling is used. (I ended up with 13 egg rolls total.)
4. Fry the egg rolls in the peanut oil (just a few at a time) until they are golden brown. Remove to a paper towel-lined plate. Serve with your favorite Asian dipping sauce I used fresh ginger root and fresh garlic

manof_darkness: I posted the wrong recipe last time this is it. Crock Pot Sweet Garlic Chicken !
Ingredients:
4-6 chicken breasts
1 cup packed brown sugar
2/3 cup vinegar (I used apple cider vinegar)
1/4 cup lemon-lime soda (diet or regular)
2-3 Tablespoons minced garlic
2 Tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
2 Tablespoons corn starch
2 Tablespoons water
Red pepper flakes (optional)
Directions:
Spray slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray. Place chicken (frozen, thawed or fresh) inside slow cooker. Mix together brown sugar, vinegar, soda, garlic, soy sauce, and pepper together. Pour over chicken. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours.
Take chicken pieces out of slow cooker (mine basically fell apart) and pour remaining sauce into saucepan. Place saucepan over high heat. Mix together corn starch and water, pour into saucepan, and mix well. Let sauce come to a boil and boil for 2-3 minutes, or until it starts to thicken and turns into a glaze. Remove from heat and let sit for a minute or two (it will continue to thicken as it cools down).
Sprinkle red pepper flakes on top if desired. This can be served over rice or noodles, I also like it with a baked potato on the side (It's good on top of the potato too!

manof_darkness: we made this tonight it is a little bit of heaven. Bacon wrapped pork loin slow cooked. Ingredients
• 3 pound pork loin , trimmed off excess fat
• 1 tablespoon canola oil
• salt and pepper , to taste
• 4 garlic cloves , minced
• 1/3 cup light brown sugar
• 8 slices thick cut bacon
US Customary - Metric
Instructions
Note: click on times in the instructions to start a kitchen timer while cooking.
1. Rub the tablespoon of canola oil and add Kosher salt and fresh cracked black pepper to taste.
2. Add the garlic and brown sugar to the top of the pork.
3. Wrap the pork with the bacon (I wrapped all the way around, if you want to drape them over the top you can as well.)
4. Place carefully into the slow cooker and cook on low for 4-5 hours.
5. If you finish the cooking time and for some reason the bacon is not as crispy as you would like, remove the pork and put it on a baking sheet in the oven on broil for 2-3 minutes (keep the pork in the middle of the oven, not too close to the top). When it is all done I drain the juice and thin it down crisp up the bacon and crumble it and make a gravy

manof_darkness: Someone asked me to add this to my wall: My mac and cheese recipe: First you need to make a white sauce. Which is two table spoons of butter melted in a sauce pan then when melted add two tablespoons of flour, making a roux. Then add 1 cup of milk. Presto white sauce. Now we add the cheese. I use 3 kinds of cheese sharp cheddar 1 cup, mozzarella, 1/2 cup, and parmesan cheese, 1/2 cup stir till thickened. Boil about 1 and 1/2 cups of macaroni noodles drain and add the cheese sauce to that stir and then I like to top with bread crumbs and cheese. Bake at 375 for about 25 minutes.l For a kick I add a chopped jalapeno to the melting butter for the white sauce.

Cherry_Blossom_
Cherry_Blossom_: A good friend of mine unexpectedly lost her husband ~ A couple of months later we were running together
chatting about nothing...she asked what my dinner plans were & i told her my husband wanted chili ~ but I didnt feel like shopping at the store ~ we ran a few minutes more when she quietly said "make the chili"
It took me a few minutes to realize we were no longer talking about dinner, It was about going out of ur way
to do something for someone u love because at any moment they can be unexpectedly taken from you...

So today I'm sharing that wisdom handed down to me from a dear friend ~ that I've thought about so many times since that day~

The next time someone you love wants you to go for a walk or watch a football game or play a board game or just to put ur phone down & give them ur undivided attention ~ just do it ..."make the chili"

Love deeply & selflessly ..
