db_too: No tail seen and it has markings of a chipmunk. Variations of coloring in the fur, unlike that I've ever seen in a squirrel. Notice the spots that run in rows which are elongated horizontally with reference of head to tail. Chipmunks do have a tail, but their tails are nut as bushy as the tails of a squirrel. Even though this picture is of the animal in lush greenery, a tail would usually be seen. I must send a copy of this picture to zoologist to confirm my speculation. |
