It lies almost 300 meters (900 feet) below the surface of the Earth and it contains the largest crystals known in the world, by far. The largest crystals are over 11 meters long (36 feet) and weigh 55 tons. It is near a magma chamber so the tempature is ---- Air Temperature of 50C(122F), they have to wear special cooling suits to tolerate the caves. lori100: Can you imagine when the miners first saw it....?......It must have felt like it was a dream!!  ezsunshine: Wow That's so beautiful.I believe that crystals and rocks hold energy I can't even imagine what these people felt inside when they were there.On the bad side damn I hope they don't slip. lori100: The crystals are searing hot to the touch, and some people almost collapsed due to the high heat at the inner depths of the caves. Some had to retreat because of the health risks ....
