When a person breaks the laws of society or the tenets of their
Religion, they should be called to account for their actions.

The believers believe, therefore they should be able to supply justification (evidence) for those who do not believe
It's a fact that beliefs inform actions

Then why is it more common to see Christians throwing insults than atheists?

The bible clearly states

Titus 3:2 - To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, [but] gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

Matthew 7: 1 - 5 Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

Mat 12:36 I tell you, on the day of judgment men will render account for every careless word they utter; for by YOUR words you will be justified, and by YOUR words you will be condemned

Therefore hose who end up resorting to name calling, personal attacks, is a reflection of insecurities of their own beliefs, it boosts their ego
