kire523: Driving home from Denver tonight I saw zero cars, 8 elk and one bobcat along the South Platter River. I did not see a mountain lion tonight. It was a very dark night. Away from human’s artificial reality I could not see my hand in front of my face. I stopped to listen to the river and it spoke to me in a different way, its essence touching mine. After a few minutes I grew suddenly frightened, the hair on the back of my neck tingling. I called to Argus, my dog, who I could not see, but is usually exploring along the water’s edge. Tonight he was right by my side, ready to jump into the safety of the car. We made our escape. Mountain lion? Sasquatch? Imagination?

Ariadnetta: This is the kind of thing many people never get to experience now, with urbanisation spreading. Beautiful to read, and glad you got the enjoyment of a good scare unscathed!
