 Friends         | I love my friends and spending time with them, I have a very active social life. I'm into clean, healthy, and active living. Hobbies would include travel, photography, cooking, entertaining, gardening, collecting various things and exploring new places, among others. I had a cabin, which I loved and miss. Would like to have another one! I'm a social person, so I'm on Wire to chat with like minded people. That means fun, clean chat---no games, I've seen it all. Oh, and did I mention I DO NOT CYBER? For every person in the US that tested positive for the virus, there are ten more that have it, and are walking around spreading this virus. Now multiply this by 10 x 10 x 10. It's exponential. More ppl will be infected, shedding that virus to even MORE ppl, which will increase the numbers of hospitalization, over-burden the health care system, increase the numbers of ppl who can't work. Yep, like I said from the start---it's a numbers game and is already cyclical. Kelly101010: I braved the new world yesterday and went to a grocery store wearing a scarf and gloves (first time) and was glad to see many other shoppers doing the same. The atmosphere was calm and orderly and most ppl were observing the 6 foot distance. All hail to the front line of ppl fighting this new war, the Covid 19 virus. They are the ppl that deal with the public every day. They are the stockers and checkers in retail stores, they are our first responders (EMS, police, and Fire) and how about our sanitation workers? And God bless our heroes that work directly with patients who are infected, the docs, nurses, techs and staff who are risking their own lives and who could be bringing this virus home to their families. Words can't say enough. Kelly101010: Okay, I just checked a few sources and the latest studies have reported that Covid 19 can live outside of a host organism for as many as 72 hours depending on the surface, which is why we still have to use sanitizing procedures for any products that come into your home from outside. Sanitizing (cleaning and removing germs etc) is different from sterilizing which kill germs etc. Some products do one or the other and some products do both. When I sanitize products coming into my home I generally use an ammonia based product, yeah Windex works. I DO sterilize my hands with alcohol based products any time I leave my house, which is rare. And THAT process involves sprays and wipes pretty much every step of the way. (It's too long to detail here.) Be safe, be careful, stay healthy and don't spread this virus!
Kelly101010: Okay, I wasn't sure if I should post this because I thought it might cause some confusion, but to clear this up, the term "coronavirus" refers to a cluster of viruses that have all mutated and include the common cold (and all the mutations) Mers, Sars and N1H1. The current virus is Covid 19. Kelly101010: Ok, I haven't left my house for 5 days but thank goodness for the internet and books etc. Also calling and texting friends is very important. I'm going to venture out Wed to two places for supplies. I'm bringing hand sanitizer sprays and wipes with me and I'll use them before I leave my house, and again before I enter and again when I leave each place. I will also sanitize each product before it goes into my house. This is the new reality. Also, because of the cyclical nature of this virus, this crisis will last for months, not just weeks in the US. We're only in phase one. Preparation prevents panic. You won't be able to find all the things you want in one place. Be optimistic! Kelly101010: Okay people---having trouble finding alcohol wipes because there just aren't any in stores? Buy lens wipes with alcohol. Yep. for eyeglasses and camera lenses. They cost more but this is hardly the time to be stingy. Kelly101010: You can have the coronavirus for up to 14 days before you have any symptoms whatsoever, and you'll be shedding that virus wherever you go and infecting ppl you don't even have contact with.
