Songbird_nz: because it stirs something within my soul... evokes memories and dreams... explores my emotional spectrum... makes me feel happy, sexy, funny, girly, badass... I love it because it is my life and gives me life.
kberry: Well, I only ask, because I "like" music SOMETIMES. It's pleasant to listen to, but more often than not, it's an irritant and stressful. It limits my hearing. When there's music on, I feel very anxious and become hypervigilant.
Almost every person I know feels some sort of connection to music, whereas I could be perfectly happy with listening to my surroundings.
MercuryDragon: It gives people something to focus on so they aren't always stuck in their thoughts. We're pretty much living in a constant dialogue with ourselves and music gives a break from that without having to sleep. Instead of thinking in words all the time, people get to think in tunes and that can be a welcome relief from hearing yourself talk to yourself all the time.
MercuryDragon: Yep, because it can be overwhelming if you're already trying to think. It's like trying to run two channels on the same television at once.
