Playing Coop is both easy and hard. Easy because you don't have to beg for games in the Wordy room. Hard because you have to learn to work together with your partner for 3 months; take out the "me" and become "us" and "ours". What Trail and I have achieved this season is not just teamwork but synergy. We both had recognised and worked through each others strengths and weaknesses. Trail with his high scoring words is lethal; when he is on that mindzone I content myself with getting the x, z, j, q out of the way so he can maneuver his way to find us the words that racks up the points. It doesn't hurt that he knows so much medical and scientific words. I bring in the speed. My boggling skills acquired through years of playing the 3-minute game come to the fore when we need a lot of points in a short time like when we did a one-day race against pdb and nickynin with them being 10,000 points ahead with 3 hours to go. I also bring in the patience and the calm (I think). Trail, aside from his genius, brings in the entertainment. Getting through a season in Coop is not just a test of skills but also of will and spirit. It almost broke ours when we woke up on the 2nd day and jimmyjim and phillyboy had left us with an 80,000 points margin. But that was also the day we vowed never to be outraced ever again. You can both blame them for setting the momentum of the season. I am sorry to hear that illness had prevented them from continuing with the season. It would have been such a race! Congratulations to all who broke through and made it to the board. It is not an easy feat. We can see a few that seem to already eye the next season's leaderboard, good luck!
