Karen33405: 2 years ago • Report 3 PumpkinMoondust: It won't end because people fear differences...they don't have the open mindedness to see that there is beauty in our differences...we can learn alot from people we perceive as different. nycsidd: Racism in all forms has no place in cultured society. It’s almost similar or on par with slavery . (Post deleted by rokasgruzauskas ) (Post deleted by KarenBigRed ) KarenBigRed: KarenBigRed in reply to rokasgruzauskas: You’re not racist but you identified by nothing other than his color and had to make sure we know you are nice to him Why wouldn’t you be nice to him? hippielil: In reply to KarenBigRed....Maybe English Isn't rokas first language ...I think he means that to him the colour isn't important... the person inside the skin is.....Australia is Racist against it's first peoples...My Mother and father are both darker skinned... they both had one white one black parent....Even though i am lighter skinned my children are on the darker side and they too have copped racial remarks...I copped it growing up as did my sisters... My MOTHER AND FATHER were taken at birth...My father placed with white distant relatives... my mother was placed in an orphanage even though both parents were alive...She was too dark for her white mum and they weren't giving an Aboriginal man his child to raise....I hear all sorts of stereo types for all different races and it's just bloody horrid....I stand up against racism.. not just for my people... but all people.....and i have taught my children the same and now the grand children...before anything...we are all human...all connected....Live n let bloody live i say. KarenBigRed in reply to hippielil: No, he’s a moron I’m lilly white and I am married to a Mexican/Creole woman, no kids, very sorry to hear about your tragedy (Post deleted by rokasgruzauskas ) KarenBigRed in reply to rokasgruzauskas: You can like anyone you want, I’m not sure you knew this but somewhat, someone got Morry banned, that should make you happy (Post deleted by rokasgruzauskas ) KarenBigRed in reply to rokasgruzauskas: You lying sack, you shit talked her nonstop then shit talked me for defending her, why do you think I blocked you? Short memory? Just like your winkie (Post deleted by rokasgruzauskas ) crystallee31759: In my most humble opinion, ending racism is just the tip of the iceburg. In a perfect world, we would always, always, just be kind to one another. All "others" all "people"... all of "us" then "we" Might have a Chance to save OUR WORLD. KarenBigRed in reply to rokasgruzauskas: My day is far from ruined and this is over, I have no issues with Karen and I would like to keep it that way Have a nice day, LIAR (Post deleted by rokasgruzauskas ) (Post deleted by rokasgruzauskas ) KarenBigRed in reply to Karen33405: That wasn’t close to fighting Trust this, I nipped it in the bud hippielil: in reply to rokasgruzaukas....Point out where i said you were racist...YOU clearly read my answer wrong and with anger in your heart....There was/is/no hate in my reply towards anyone nor is there antwhere in it me acussing you of being racist...Nor was i having a go at you for English being your second language...I was just pointing out that your typing had some words that could have expressed what you meant in a better light... there for someone else took your reply as racist....All i did was try to explain that you maybe hadn't the words to explain what you mean properly... as in...his colour isn't what made you nice to him...but rather the fact that he was a nice person being why you liked him....So get a grip honey....I wasn't attacking i was doing the opposite.... put ya reading glasses on pleaseeeeeee.... no need for an apology..... clearly... you aren't as nice as YOU make out to be. Luviissa in reply to hippielil: So sorry to read of you and your families experiences Lil Hun. My mum is Sami, Norwegian Sami , and the Sami have been persecuted for centuries in Scandinavia . The Sami language was forbidden in any State institution and mum remembers being punished at school for talking to friends in Sami even during breaks. Obviously with that also went verbal abuse and sometimes even violence . As a consequence of that, mum made sure that my 2 sisters and I were brought up to see people as people, not a nationality, ethnicity, creed or sexual orientation and I have endeavoured to do the same with my own 2 children. Sad to see that this post got hijacked too by certain people and that has somehow diluted the lovely post that Karen put up originally. to you Lulu 🌷 hippielil in reply to Luviissa: Thank you hun...And oh the sorrow of losing culture and language ...My father's tongue is completely lost...When the English invaded they didn't leave too much left of my fathers MOB (our word for tribe/clan etc). It was the same for my grandparents... they were not allowed to speak their language or practise culture in any way. In fact my people were not classed as citizens under some English new law. We were classed under law and treated like foreigners, yet it was/is our land. Certainly had to be made of strong stuff back in the day, they used the cane for any sort of punishment back then.... how horrible for your dear Mum... but more power to her for passing it all on <3. I think we have moved forward since then, but racism clearly exists and it's every country & yes bigotry too sadly in all forms. Yes certainly sad to see the nastiness is what should be a strengthening, enlighting, friendly post. ... thanks again for sharing your Mother's memories and time....It will stay with me always <3 (Post deleted by rokasgruzauskas ) Luviissa in reply to hippielil: Morning Lil and more than welcome It's heartbreaking that your father's language has been completely eradicated. That has been the pattern so often used by "colonising" cultures, to deny any linguistic identity. It's happening right now for example in Tibet, a place close to my heart, where Mandarin and Cantonese have taken over from Tibetan as the Lingua Franca and use of Tibetan is seen as an act of sedition. What saved Sami culture ultimately is the fact we are nomads and the bulk of our adult lives was spent in the Arctic Wilds. Mum actually still has scars on her shoulders where she was punished with a Reindeer Skin strap. Thank you for sharing too hun. Have a wonderful day , Lulu x (Post deleted by rokasgruzauskas ) katehoughton: Roka mate,,read everything again and slower,,digest what was said by Hippielil,,seriously mate ,she wad defending you,,no one actually called you a racist ,you really need to chill.. rokasgruzauskas: I read it everything , she insulted me for saying that english was not my first language , that i'm not nice , and i need to put a glasses on , she has no idea where i'm from and what kind of life i'm living , so she's the one who needs to back off PumpkinMoondust in reply to rokasgruzauskas: Do you even know what "English is not his first language" means? It means it's not the language you knew and spoke initially...you learned it...therefore it is your SECOND language. katehoughton in reply to rokasgruzauskas: No she didn't, you misinterpreted what was said and now you are all discombobulated over the actual context of what was written..seriously, i see no malice in what was said whatsoever..
