kai molon labe: During the course of Jesus' revelations to Saint Faustina on the Divine Mercy He asked on numerous occasions that a feast day be dedicated to the Divine Mercy and that this feast be celebrated on the Sunday after Easter. The liturgical texts of that day, the 2nd Sunday of Easter, concern the institution of the Sacrament of Penance, the Tribunal of the Divine Mercy, and are thus already suited to the request of Our Lord. This Feast, which had already been granted to the nation of Poland and been celebrated within Vatican City, was granted to the Universal Church by Pope John Paul II on the occasion of the canonization of Sr. Faustina on 30 April 2000. In a decree dated 23 May 2000, the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments stated that "throughout the world the Second Sunday of Easter will receive the name Divine Mercy Sunday, a perennial invitation to the Christian world to face, with confidence in divine benevolence, the difficulties and trials that mankind will experience in the years to come." These papal acts represent the highest endorsement that the Church can give to a private revelation, an act of  papal infallibility proclaiming the certain sanctity of the mystic, and the granting of a universal feast, as requested by Our Lord to St. Faustina.

Concerning the Feast of Mercy Jesus said:

Whoever approaches the Fountain of Life on this day will be granted complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. (Diary 300)

I want the image solemnly blessed on the first Sunday after Easter, and I want it to be venerated publicly so that every soul may know about it. (Diary 341)

This Feast emerged from the very depths of My mercy, and it is confirmed in the vast depths of my tender mercies. (Diary 420)

kai molon labe:  kai molon labe   He loved kids and began the World Youth Day in which hundreds of thousands of kids flock each year.   And Benedict spoiled us with his articulate letters

anthonyhotp   So which pope was Locksley pretending to be ? Thereโ€™s only been a few in your lifetime?

locksley69   Well, not always the best thing. I recall seeing a picture of basket of Hosts lying in a trash can after a World Youth Day

kai molon labe   locksley does not need to pretend to be anyone but himself. He is a grown man and not a boy.

locksley69   Kairos, we had a long string of strong popes .. from Leo to Benedict

kai molon labe   Oh no, locksley. I never heard of that. Hold on while I pick my jaw up from the floor....Our Precious Lord tossed in a trash can?

locksley69   Kairos, a lotta Catholics don't know what the Blessed Sacrament is

kai molon labe   They should not be Extraordinary Ministers

locksley69   The Pew Survey of 2010, you recall, found 45% of Catholics think Holy Communion is only a symbol

kai molon labe   How sad, and I had not heard that before

locksley69   The Hosts were pass around in woven baskets .. you're screaming for desecration by doing that

kai molon labe   No kidding! What adult in their right mind would do that???  aye yi yi

locksley69   It was "noble simplicity" The human mind works like this: put the Host in a gold ciborium and we understand how precious It is.  Put it in a basket and It's nothing

locksley69   See, I understand. You don't want to pass around a gold ciborium. So you get hundreds of cheap baskets and HOPE the communicants would still understand it is the Lord

locksley69   When, of course, the people in charge show their own lack of respect

locksley69   The Church used to understand devotion and respect in large gatherings. The priest received for all. And there was no chance of disrespect

basscapt   When you receive communion at home what is it served from ?

locksley69   After Vatican II, the "experts" thought it horrible that all half a million people didn;t get to communicate

locksley69   bass .... we don't communicate at home as a rule

 basscapt   For the sick?

locksley69   beau, a bishop, priest or deacon brings the Blessed Sacrament to the sick or, when necessary, a Special Minister of Holy Communion

locksley69   In the early days of the Church people took pieces of the Eucharistic loaf home and put it it was called an arca or they wd take the Blessed Sacrament and put it in a cup of wine, with a cloth covering it and communicate every morning by drinking some of the wine with Host in it

locksley69   The Host is carried in a pyx It looks something like a pocket watch or a pill container pyx ... from the Latin "Pyxis" or is it Greek? I forget

locksley69   In the early Church the Host was kept in a little chest worn as a locket .. called an arca .. Latin for box

locksley69   Or the Holy Eucharist with a bottle of the Precious Blood, might be carried in a capso .. a leather cylindrical case, ordinarily used by scrbes in which they kept their ink and paper

locksley69   or the Host was placed in a container, usually silver, called a Paenula .. shaped like a large Hershey Kiss. Ordinarily, a paenula was a great cloak, made from a circle and worn covering the enter body

locksley69   And, last of all, the container, sometimes a large basket, sometimes a small one, called a Pyxis was used made from a full circle of cloth, I meant to write

locksley69   For Valentines Day you sometimes see a box, about 6 inches square, with a single large Hershey's Kiss in it. That was the size of a Paenula. The upper part of it was the lid, of course, and the lower part the receptacle

locksley69   So arca, capsa, paenula and pyxis were the four kinds of containers for the Holy Eucharist adapted from ordinary use for the sacred

locksley69   The capsa usually had a band of leather to go over shoulder across the chest. The capsa was a heavy leather cylindrical container .. kinda like a binoculars case

locksley69   Well, that turned into a less than coherent lesson on the containers for the Eucharist all because Bass wanted to know the container used for Viaticum, the pyx

locksley69   The arca, in which people used to carry the Host with them during the day, at work and so on, is the basis for the pectoral cross worn by bishops

locksley69   it hung about their necks and Jesus was with them all the day
It's interesting to know that EVERYONE used to carry Jesus with them all day long, hanging from their neckc. In time, only bishops continued the tradition with their pectoral crosses because the respect given the Sacred Host became more accentuated

kai molon labe   That is interesting.

anthonyhotp   Good job at running everybody away.

kai molon labe   anthony One more smart remark from you and you are done for four hours here

kai molon labe   Enough of your jealousy. It has no place here

anthonyhotp   Why do you think no one is here yet ?

kai molon labe   Say good bye

kai molon labe removed anthonyhotp from the room

 anthonyhotp   Left the room

kai molon labe   locksley attracts more folks interested in learning that your regurgitation of Scripture that you do not practice.

 kai molon labe   ghost that

 Father Barnabas   Joined the room

Father Barnabas   Good evening, all; the peace of Christ be with everyone.

locksley69   LOL and on the heels of anthony being booted .... comes the Friar! Howdy Father

Father Barnabas   Locksley hi there! I see we had a bit of a "distrubance."

locksley69   nothing serious ... anthony being a gadfly

Father Barnabas   Well it is good every once in a while to take note of what others say about us. If it sounds like the same things are being said over and over again by different people, sometimes it may be beneficial to pause and and reflect and consider trying to come

Father Barnabas   across in a better way to others. There's no harm in taking self-inventory and seeing if we can't improve.

 Father Barnabas   Be back later.

kai molon labe   One needs to consider the source long before considering their words.

kai molon labe   What the heck?

kai molon labe   No one came and no one left while locksley was teaching.

 Milkman59   good evening everyone
Milkman59   Must be silent prayer time again. Say one for me thanks!
 Milkman59 Left the room

kai molon labe   Liars, Gossips and Slanderers are in dire need of prayers before they wake up and find themselves in the Lake of Fire

I walk away from the computer for less than five minutes, return and w/o any prior warning I discover...

 Father Barnabas     Joined the room
Father Barnabas removed kai molon labe as a room host

kai molon labe: Gospel LUKE 22:14โ€”LUKE 23:56
When the hour came,
Jesus took his place at table with the apostles.
He said to them,
"I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer,
for, I tell you, I shall not eat it again
until there is fulfillment in the kingdom of God."
Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and said,
"Take this and share it among yourselves;
for I tell you that from this time on
I shall not drink of the fruit of the vine
until the kingdom of God comes."
Then he took the bread, said the blessing,
broke it, and gave it to them, saying,
"This is my body, which will be given for you;
do this in memory of me."
And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying,
"This cup is the new covenant in my blood,
which will be shed for you.

"And yet behold, the hand of the one who is to betray me
is with me on the table;
for the Son of Man indeed goes as it has been determined;
but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed."
And they began to debate among themselves
who among them would do such a deed.

Then an argument broke out among them
about which of them should be regarded as the greatest.
He said to them,
"The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them
and those in authority over them are addressed as 'Benefactors';
but among you it shall not be so.
Rather, let the greatest among you be as the youngest,
and the leader as the servant.
For who is greater:
the one seated at table or the one who serves?
Is it not the one seated at table?
I am among you as the one who serves.
It is you who have stood by me in my trials;
and I confer a kingdom on you,
just as my Father has conferred one on me,
that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom;
and you will sit on thrones
judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

"Simon, Simon, behold Satan has demanded
to sift all of you like wheat,
but I have prayed that your own faith may not fail;
and once you have turned back,
you must strengthen your brothers."
He said to him,
"Lord, I am prepared to go to prison and to die with you."
But he replied,
"I tell you, Peter, before the cock crows this day,
you will deny three times that you know me."

He said to them,
"When I sent you forth without a money bag or a sack or sandals,
were you in need of anything?"
"No, nothing, " they replied.
He said to them,
"But now one who has a money bag should take it,
and likewise a sack,
and one who does not have a sword
should sell his cloak and buy one.
For I tell you that this Scripture must be fulfilled in me,
namely, He was counted among the wicked;
and indeed what is written about me is coming to fulfillment."
Then they said,
"Lord, look, there are two swords here."
But he replied, "It is enough!"

Then going out, he went, as was his custom, to the Mount of Olives,
and the disciples followed him.
When he arrived at the place he said to them,
"Pray that you may not undergo the test."
After withdrawing about a stone's throw from them and kneeling,
he prayed, saying, "Father, if you are willing,
take this cup away from me;
still, not my will but yours be done."
And to strengthen him an angel from heaven appeared to him.
He was in such agony and he prayed so fervently
that his sweat became like drops of blood
falling on the ground.
When he rose from prayer and returned to his disciples,
he found them sleeping from grief.
He said to them, "Why are you sleeping?
Get up and pray that you may not undergo the test."

While he was still speaking, a crowd approached
and in front was one of the Twelve, a man named Judas.
He went up to Jesus to kiss him.
Jesus said to him,
"Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?"
His disciples realized what was about to happen, and they asked,
"Lord, shall we strike with a sword?"
And one of them struck the high priest's servant
and cut off his right ear.
But Jesus said in reply,
"Stop, no more of this!"
Then he touched the servant's ear and healed him.
And Jesus said to the chief priests and temple guards
and elders who had come for him,
"Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs?
Day after day I was with you in the temple area,
and you did not seize me;
but this is your hour, the time for the power of darkness."

After arresting him they led him away
and took him into the house of the high priest;
Peter was following at a distance.
They lit a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat around it,
and Peter sat down with them.
When a maid saw him seated in the light,
she looked intently at him and said,
"This man too was with him."
But he denied it saying,
"Woman, I do not know him."
A short while later someone else saw him and said,
"You too are one of them";
but Peter answered, "My friend, I am not."
About an hour later, still another insisted,
"Assuredly, this man too was with him,
for he also is a Galilean."
But Peter said,
"My friend, I do not know what you are talking about."
Just as he was saying this, the cock crowed,
and the Lord turned and looked at Peter;
and Peter remembered the word of the Lord,
how he had said to him,
"Before the cock crows today, you will deny me three times."
He went out and began to weep bitterly.
The men who held Jesus in custody were ridiculing and beating him.
They blindfolded him and questioned him, saying,
"Prophesy! Who is it that struck you?"
And they reviled him in saying many other things against him.

When day came the council of elders of the people met,
both chief priests and scribes,
and they brought him before their Sanhedrin.
They said, "If you are the Christ, tell us, "
but he replied to them, "If I tell you, you will not believe,
and if I question, you will not respond.
But from this time on the Son of Man will be seated
at the right hand of the power of God."
They all asked, "Are you then the Son of God?"
He replied to them, "You say that I am."
Then they said, "What further need have we for testimony?
We have heard it from his own mouth."

Then the whole assembly of them arose and brought him before Pilate.
They brought charges against him, saying,
"We found this man misleading our people;
he opposes the payment of taxes to Caesar
and maintains that he is the Christ, a king."
Pilate asked him, "Are you the king of the Jews?"
He said to him in reply, "You say so."
Pilate then addressed the chief priests and the crowds,
"I find this man not guilty."
But they were adamant and said,
"He is inciting the people with his teaching throughout all Judea,
from Galilee where he began even to here."

On hearing this Pilate asked if the man was a Galilean;
and upon learning that he was under Herod's jurisdiction,
he sent him to Herod who was in Jerusalem at that time.
Herod was very glad to see Jesus;
he had been wanting to see him for a long time,
for he had heard about him
and had been hoping to see him perform some sign.
He questioned him at length,
but he gave him no answer.
The chief priests and scribes, meanwhile,
stood by accusing him harshly.
Herod and his soldiers treated him contemptuously and mocked him,
and after clothing him in resplendent garb,
he sent him back to Pilate.
Herod and Pilate became friends that very day,
even though they had been enemies formerly.
Pilate then summoned the chief priests, the rulers, and the people
and said to them, "You brought this man to me
and accused him of inciting the people to revolt.
I have conducted my investigation in your presence
and have not found this man guilty
of the charges you have brought against him,
nor did Herod, for he sent him back to us.
So no capital crime has been committed by him.
Therefore I shall have him flogged and then release him."

But all together they shouted out,
"Away with this man!
Release Barabbas to us."
โ€” Now Barabbas had been imprisoned for a rebellion
that had taken place in the city and for murder. โ€”
Again Pilate addressed them, still wishing to release Jesus,
but they continued their shouting,
"Crucify him! Crucify him!"
Pilate addressed them a third time,
"What evil has this man done?
I found him guilty of no capital crime.
Therefore I shall have him flogged and then release him."
With loud shouts, however,
they persisted in calling for his crucifixion,
and their voices prevailed.
The verdict of Pilate was that their demand should be granted.
So he released the man who had been imprisoned
for rebellion and murder, for whom they asked,
and he handed Jesus over to them to deal with as they wished.

As they led him away
they took hold of a certain Simon, a Cyrenian,
who was coming in from the country;
and after laying the cross on him,
they made him carry it behind Jesus.
A large crowd of people followed Jesus,
including many women who mourned and lamented him.
Jesus turned to them and said,
"Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me;
weep instead for yourselves and for your children
for indeed, the days are coming when people will say,
'Blessed are the barren,
the wombs that never bore
and the breasts that never nursed.'
At that time people will say to the mountains,
'Fall upon us!'
and to the hills, 'Cover us!'
for if these things are done when the wood is green
what will happen when it is dry?"
Now two others, both criminals,
were led away with him to be executed.

When they came to the place called the Skull,
they crucified him and the criminals there,
one on his right, the other on his left.
Then Jesus said,
"Father, forgive them, they know not what they do."
They divided his garments by casting lots.
The people stood by and watched;
the rulers, meanwhile, sneered at him and said,
"He saved others, let him save himself
if he is the chosen one, the Christ of God."
Even the soldiers jeered at him.
As they approached to offer him wine they called out,
"If you are King of the Jews, save yourself."
Above him there was an inscription that read,
"This is the King of the Jews."

Now one of the criminals hanging there reviled Jesus, saying,
"Are you not the Christ?
Save yourself and us."
The other, however, rebuking him, said in reply,
"Have you no fear of God,
for you are subject to the same condemnation?
And indeed, we have been condemned justly,
for the sentence we received corresponds to our crimes,
but this man has done nothing criminal."
Then he said,
"Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."
He replied to him,
"Amen, I say to you,
today you will be with me in Paradise."

It was now about noon and darkness came over the whole land
until three in the afternoon
because of an eclipse of the sun.
Then the veil of the temple was torn down the middle.
Jesus cried out in a loud voice,
"Father, into your hands I commend my spirit";
and when he had said this he breathed his last.

The centurion who witnessed what had happened glorified God and said,
"This man was innocent beyond doubt."
When all the people who had gathered for this spectacle saw what had happened,
they returned home beating their breasts;
but all his acquaintances stood at a distance,
including the women who had followed him from Galilee
and saw these events.

Now there was a virtuous and righteous man named Joseph who,
though he was a member of the council,
had not consented to their plan of action.
He came from the Jewish town of Arimathea
and was awaiting the kingdom of God.
He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.
After he had taken the body down,
he wrapped it in a linen cloth
and laid him in a rock-hewn tomb
in which no one had yet been buried.
It was the day of preparation,
and the sabbath was about to begin.
The women who had come from Galilee with him followed behind,
and when they had seen the tomb
and the way in which his body was laid in it,
they returned and prepared spices and perfumed oils.
Then they rested on the sabbath according to the commandment.

kai molon labe: kai molon labe: Father, I am happy to hear that all your hosts have your love. Some days it seems like love is alien to this world.

Unfortunately, the things that Milk has said to me inside the room (meet at the corner of semen and cummin) is beyond pale. I have no wish to communicate with a man that shows such little respect for me as a woman and as his elder. How would you feel if he had said that to your Mother?

As for Nan, I can tell she is lying because her lips are moving. I want nothing to do with her outside of showing respect for her as one of your hosts, and that is only out of respect for you. Numerous emails over the past 9 months of her false accusations do not simply disappear because she got caught in one of them and has managed to lie her way out of it to you.

Any restraint I show towards them is because of my love for you. I will never, ever trust either of them again. And you can put dash in that pile, too.

Thank-you for all the good you do. God bless.

kai molon labe: Father Barnabas: Kai:

Why would I ban Sejanes when I was hoping to effectuate a just resolution by having her return so that she could hopefully apologize especially to both you and Kai. I made it clear through my messages to all the hosts that if she were to return and apologize and retract that statement, that she would be able to return. By banning her it would not have given her the opportunity.

When Sola Scriptura came into the room and attacked me unjustly and publicly stated (several times) in the Catholic Theology chatroom that I was gay and had AIDS, I did not ban him. I sought him out and we wrestled with our differences and he later came back into the room and apologized. I didn't hold onto his ugly and false accusations, I forgave him and welcomed him back again because I wanted mercy and love to triumph over evil. I was willing to put aside my hurt and humiliation so that forgiveness and reconciliation would be accomplished. It was all about love, Kai, not about seeking revenge. And likewise I wanted it to be so with Sejanes.

This was never about an "us verses them." This has always been about Christians rising up to do the right thing, even turning the other cheek when we have to, even when we don't want to, out of being faithful servants and rising above injustice.

I am very taken back by your words that you do not trust me anymore. Whatever I have done, for you to say that to me, I do not understand. But perhaps your response comes more out of disappointment in wanting me to handle the situation differently in a way that you preferred over what I believed was right according to my conscience. Or, perhaps, Kai, it is comes more out of something deeper within you; something which you need to reflect on. Whatever the reason, without trust there really can be no relationship, and I am not only disappointed, but hurt by your words. Since you no longer trust me, I will relieve you of your position as host of this room, but I am more saddened that I feel that I have lost a friend and ally.

I wish you nothing but goodness and the peace of our Lord in the future.

Thank you for time and services to our chatrroom,
Fr. B.

In 1675, Jesus appeared to St. Margaret Mary Alocoque in Paray le Monial, France in a convent.

He said, "Behold this heart which has so loved men. Establish in the world a devotion to My Sacred Heart."

To those who receive Holy Communion on 9 consecutive first Fridays, Jesus promises the following:

* I will give them all the graces necessary for their state in life.
* I will establish peace in their families.
* I will console them in all their pains and trials.
* I will be their assured refuge in life and especially in death..
* I will shed abundant blessings on all their undertakings.
* Lukewarm souls will become fervent.
* Fervent souls shall rise to greater perfection.
* I will bless those homes where an image of My Heart shall be exposed and honored.
* I will give to priests the gift of moving the hardest of hearts.

Persons, who propagate this devotion, shall have their names inscribed on My Heart, never to be effaced from it.

kai molon labe: DontNeedChrist hello room
kai molon labe Hi DNC Welcome
DontNeedChrist does anyone here think there are contradictions between the NT and the OT?
SouthFella NT overrides the OT
DontNeedChrist that's not what I asked. does the NT contradict the OT?
kai molon labe DNC, I cannot think of one right now. Do you have one in mind?
DontNeedChrist I sure do. a glaring contradiction
kai molon labe Sweet. What might that be?
DontNeedChrist Romans 3:10, do you know what it says?
kai molon labe Not off hand. I am opening my bible online as we speak
DontNeedChrist OK I'll wait
SouthFella << blowing dust off Kai Bible >>
DontNeedChrist you might want to pay attention to this one southy
SouthFella yeah uhuh coming from you . I doubt it
DontNeedChrist the words of the bibles will speak for themselves southy
DontNeedChrist I'm just the messenger
kai molon labe "As it is written: There is not any man just."
DontNeedChrist just meaning righteous?
kai molon labe Yes
DontNeedChrist Now compare that to Genesis 6:9, do you know what that says?
kai molon labe What contradiction, if put in context, should I observe?
kai molon labe Again, not offhand
DontNeedChrist read Genesis 6:9
DontNeedChrist Romans 3:10 says there is no righteous man, not one
DontNeedChrist what does Genesis 6:9 say?
kai molon labe Well, I have not gone there as I am curious as to what you are thinking Romans 3:10 means.
kai molon labe In context
DontNeedChrist You tell me
DontNeedChrist what does it mean in context?
SouthFella Between Genesis all the way to Romans . Quite a few thousand years . Esp stiff necked people running around .
kai molon labe Non righteous according to the law of nature and of Moses but only by the grace of God
DontNeedChrist what does Genesis 6:9 say southy?
kai molon labe We know that there are folks that Scripture says are righteous. Romans 3:10 is saying that man is not righteous without the faith and grace of God
alaskakimberlee No you do not need to post anything DNC. Miss Kai, is looking at this. Please give her time.
kai molon labe Man cannot make man righteous. God makes men righteous
alaskakimberlee Exactly Kai
kai molon labe DNC, How do you understand it, in context?
kai molon labe Speaking of men being sinful and in need of God our Savior
SouthFella Jesus is RISEN !!!!
DontNeedChrist no answer
DontNeedChrist I ask about two verses and nobody will address it
kai molon labe I am headed for Gen 6:9 now
DontNeedChrist Romans 3:10 and Genesis 6:9
SouthFella I wonโ€™t play your silly Christ hating games .
alaskakimberlee DNC, plaese scroll up. I answered you.
DontNeedChrist not a game, just showing verses
kai molon labe "These are the generations of Noe: Noe was a just and perfect man in his generations, he walked with God."
DontNeedChrist perfect meaning righteous correct?
kai molon labe Okay,
DontNeedChrist now Genesis 6:9
kai molon labe And Romans 3:10 states a man can be just, with the faith and grace of God
kai molon labe I do believe Noe had those two gifts
UncleJason So I guess you're not righteous Don'tNeedChrist
kai molon labe Jason, please!
DontNeedChrist what does Genesis 6:9 say jason?
SouthFella Nor is he as righteous and perfect as Noah
kai molon labe "These are the generations of Noe: Noe was a just and perfect man in his generations, he walked with God." ..... "As it is written: There is not any man just."
alaskakimberlee Kai, Noe would not have been a righteous man without the Faith, and Grace of God.
alaskakimberlee It can not work any other way.
DontNeedChrist Romans 3:10-12: "As it is written:โ€œThere is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless there is no one who does good, not even one"
kai molon labe Noe was just and perfect because "he walked with God" which Romans 3:10 is saying MUST be done as we cannot become just without the faith and grace of God.
DontNeedChrist Genesis 6:9: "This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God"
kai molon labe Romans 3:9 mentions it is sinful folks being addressed
DontNeedChrist Romans says no man is righteous, Genesis says Noah was righteous
alaskakimberlee EXACTLY Kai
DontNeedChrist contradiction
DontNeedChrist 'nuff said
DontNeedChrist Left the room
kai molon labe DNC, No man is righteous without God
SouthFella Noah was a righteous man of his generation .
alaskakimberlee DNC, this is NOT a contradiction.
kai molon labe Okay
alaskakimberlee You can not pull one verse from many and not have it be in context.
kai molon labe He wanted it to be a contradiction and by gum, it was going to be, context be dammmmmed
alaskakimberlee Again DNC, so sorry. It does not work like this.
kai molon labe He did a hit n run
SouthFella DNC left
SouthFella DNC tripped over his own 2 left feet
kai molon labe If he had read vs 8 of Genesis, we find the words "Noe found grace before our Lord"
kai molon labe "grace" same thing as Romans 3:10 was speaking about.. sigh
kai molon labe oops read verse 8
SouthFella As Jason prefers. Does Not Compute
kai molon labe (8)But Noe found grace before the Lord. [9] These are the generations of Noe: Noe was a just and perfect man in his generations, he walked with God
kai molon labe Folks like to forget about God and his grace.. smh
alaskakimberlee Kai, we would all be in serious trouble without that Grace
kai molon labe Indeed Kimberlee
kai molon labe Well, vv 9 and 10 of Romans 3 are enough as well as vs 8 and 9 of Genesis 6

Nanasmo DNC? Democratic National Convention? Haha
Nanasmo UNCLE JASON DNA was splitting hairs
Nanasmo SHERI Wish you had been here

Nanasmo or FATHER B

kai molon labe I did just fine with DNC good grief
SouthFella Kai you did quite well.
alaskakimberlee Kai, you did Extremely well. He did not wish to hear it and did a hit and run.

kai molon labe: Father Barnabas: Hello All Hosts:

I am concerned that there are a number of reports that keep coming to me indicating that the Guidelines are being ignored by some, that partiality is being shown, and that inequities are occurring in the chatroom from time to time.

I was disappointed when I witnessed the following:

locksley69 How the Left was enraged by the possibility that she might vote for his appointment

locksley69 It is the tactic of the Left when it comes to femails in govt.. the Dems, the party of compassion

locksley69 females

bpatter789 <sigh>

bpatter789 bye

bpatter789 Left the room

alaskakimberlee I see Bp is angry as politics are being mentioned.

__________________________________

The aforementioned is an example of a chatter, who has been warned on a number of occasions about bringing up politics, while a host not only ignores the infraction but participates. As a result at least one other chatter is dismayed by this, and rightfully so.

This is not in any way helpful to the room and shows it in a negative light. I have repeatedly asked that the subject of politics be stricken and for good reasons. I think it is perfectly acceptable for chatters to take such a conversation into a PM or into a more suitable room, but it is not appropriate in the Catholic Theology chat room.

I ask everyone again to please abide by and uphold the Guidelines.

Thank you,
Fr. B.

I do not do well with generalized statements, whether they come in the form of a complaint or a compliment. Stating that 'good chatters' have complained over inequality and then insinuating that I am guilty of that simply because a 'good chatter' has complained? I have no idea and it is unfair to throw that at me without one shred of proof?

kai molon labe: Father Barnabas: Hello All:

I want to apologize for the way in which I addressed the situation of "Chatroom Infractions" which was not the best way of handling the issue and, as I am sure you know from my history, was somewhat out of character for me.

I had been chatting in the room while also chatting in a couple of PMs when I received a telephone call. It was my my mom who informed me that my father was not doing well and had to return to the hospital this evening because it appears he may have contracted an infection as evidenced by a high fever. There could also be some internal bleeding, but they are not sure.

When I came back, I had received negative feedback while other chatters had started pointing to what had been discussed in the room, and I responded while still under emotional turmoil. I should not have responded at that time or in that way.

After some reflection on the matter, I think it only right and just to extend my apologies to Kim and to say thank you for putting up with my human frailties.

kai molon labe: Father Barnabas  She admittedly was reluctant in accepting the responsibility when I asked her. She really didn't want to accept. That is why she is an "Assistant Moderator" so that way she would not be answering questions or leading discussions, but merely trying to keep the peace and booting those who were posting inappropriately.

kai molon labe Well, she keeps the peace by turning a blind eye. bpatter has been covering for her for quite some time as far as telling her who is misbehaving
Still lets folks post link after link, thanking them for doing it

Father Barnabas   I am aware that there are some inconsistencies and behaviors that seem to fly directly against what I have asked. But she discusses them with me. I really don't think there is malice, but perhaps there could be something cognitively wrong.

Father Barnabas   Her judgment and insight at times seem very off, and that has concerned me as well.   That is one reason why I have tried to go gently.

Father Barnabas   Kai I am glad that you shared the aforementioned with me as I too have seen a change in Nans and have been quite concerned. I honestly believe we are dealing with a neurological or organic issue.

Father Barnabas   I have not wanted to say anything for reasons of confidentiality.

Father Barnabas   I have tried to explain things to her in a very gentle and supportive way so that she does not feel threatened. I know this room means the world to her and she most likely lives alone and may be lonely. I could be wrong in what I have observed, but nothing else makes sense to me when I see some of the behavior which is at times confusing to me.

Father Barnabas   Kai you have probably known her a lot more than I have. But even from the few years that I have known her from AOL to now there has been a change in her online interaction. I hope and pray we are not seeing the beginning of Alzheimer's or Senile Dementia or another disorder. I have seen this happen before, much the same way, with those who are being effected by neurological pathology. It certainly would help to explain the change in her affect, behavior, lack of appropriateness in certain matters as well as some other issues.

kai molon labe BTW, I noticed the change in her back on AOL.

Father Barnabas   Yes, some bizarre ideations.

Father Barnabas   We would be talking about something and then she would become very tangential. Things that do not follow or make sense.

Father Barnabas   And I have been thinking to myself, "How does that relate to what we were discussing?" And then I would try to recapture the essence of the dialogue and gently direct her back.

kai molon labe I keep telling myself that this is not the Nan I knew years ago

Father Barnabas   It's not, Kai. At first I was wondering if her behavior was passive-aggressive... but that made no sense.

Father Barnabas   Why would she go to South's room when she knew that I directly asked mods not to go there after explaining that they should not go there.

Father Barnabas   Then she would tell me that she would go there and what was happening.

Father Barnabas   And then she would ask me if that was okay.

Father Barnabas   I was like... huh?

Father Barnabas   Kai I really believe it is not about defiance or being passive-aggressive, but about her possible mental status and simply doing things and acting in almost a child-like fashion without thinking.

kai molon labe True that in regards to her mental state but she is focused with her anger and it is all on me. I can take it.

Father Barnabas   But I will say this much, the anger is very consistent with a person who is experiencing some of the emotional elements of aging disorders.

kai molon labe I do not know much about mental disorders or even those disorders caused by aging. I suppose at my age it should be something I should know or look into

Father Barnabas:   Nans used to be more reasonable and logical. I noticed toward the end of my AOL time she started changing as well.

Father Barnabas   She would thank people for posting things that are contrary to the Catholic Church, and I found that odd. It used to drive Corona Spinarum nuts.

kai molon labe I remember! lol  Poor Corona!

Father Barnabas   But then it started getting worse.

kai molon labe It is much worse now, at least from my vantage point

Father Barnabas   And at times I would wonder, "Just whose side is she on,anyway?" LOL. Then when I would talk to her about the person and the interaction it was if she lacked keen insight about the situation.

kai molon labe bpatter has been kind enough to run that sort of interference for her lately.

Father Barnabas   Sometimes she would ask things that would be more like a 7 year old than an adult.

Father Barnabas   And she has repeated things to me over and over again, the same stories.

Father Barnabas   The "sunbeam on the monstrance" and the "Steadman missal".

Father Barnabas   As well as many others... telling me as if she were telling me for the first time.

kai molon labe Oh, this saddens me greatly. I have heard those stories over and over from her, too.

Father Barnabas   lol  Perhaps it is both fortunate and providential that we had this conversation before the meeting.

Father Barnabas   It certainly is something for us to pause and consider.

kai molon labe I think so.  I felt like I should bang my head against the nearest wall because I felt I was the only one seeing this change in her.

Father Barnabas   No, you weren't. And, quite frankly, this is another reason why I have been somewhat hesitant to host this meeting. I have been really questioning her mental state for some time now. I feel badly in that we may be seeing a decline in her.

kai molon labe I hope we are both wrong about what we see and think.

Father Barnabas   Perhaps, but little else makes sense.
