Blog PostsFriends | Mom's Birthday PoemsPoem 1.only you, my rose (a haiku) only you, my rose more beautiful everyday but will not wither Poem 2: You Were the One When I saw you, so many years ago, when I came to live with you, as your daughter; I knew that you and I would be together forever. You watched me grow up. We were together through thick and thin. We were together through laughter and tears. We shared pain that was present for many years. We saw each other through sickness and through recovery again. We put up with each other. . through whatever mood the other might be in. No one can ever take away what we have, the strong links might break. But all I have to say, is you made the best decision you could make. Here you are going to be another year older, ninety-seven in fact. When you first heard about me, you were the first one to act. Mom, I will always love you, a fact I will never deny. For, you will always be my special angel, who came to me from Heaven High. These two poems, were written for my dear mother, for the event of her ninety-seventh birthday on August 25, 2017. |
