inked_sin: Wire rant:
I am 36 years old a grown woman, the choices I make the clothing I buy the food I eat the booze I drink and if I so choose the recreational substances I consume are my own. How I choose to portray myself is a genuine human being, that's loyal to my friends till the end,an outreach worker to the homeless,An ambassador to new canadians and immigrants, and tenant advocate on behalf of low income renters unaware of their rights, I'm monogamous in a relationship and a workaholic when single so in spite of judgement to the contrary I'm not permiscuous...not that that should matter nor do I care if someone is as long as they're honest with themselves and their partners, I believe a woman's body is her own, I don't believe society should dictate what she should or shouldn't do with it to be treated simply as a human being with rights and feelings to be respected by all...when I see other females body shaming or slut shaming I don't think it makes you look better it makes you look weak, and insecure and kinda petty not to mention you're just being a follower to some archaic societal mandate that supports being virginal till you're ready to be breeding stock...cattle marching to the enviable slaughter without an original sentient thought of your own...are we not more evolved than this...is not free will and free choice what separates us from the common beast rotting and scratching in the mud? If you don't like how I look or how much tit I choose to show look away...show my profile the same blind indifference you show towards being a more progressive free thinking member of society...I will not change based on a strangers opinion..."a lion cares not of the opinion of sheep"

The Valverde: That's far from a rant. More like a battle cry. I so wish some women I know could be more like this, could fight harder for their free will and judge less on what other people do with their free will. Let's be honest, though: everyone judges. It's a thing with us, humans, I guess. It's how we live, always comparing everything we see with the references we have. Choosing whether or not express this judgment, though, is how we can get along or not. I think that if we truly believe something we don't feel compelled to convince other people of it nor look down upon them if they don't agree with us. Those truly convinced of their principles and beliefs have no need to force them on others. When people look at you and feel they should condemn you, Inked, they're only expressing how threatened they feel by your freedom. Such is the nature of prejudice: those who feel as if their beliefs are threatened by yours are acting out of fear that their principles or beliefs would somehow dissolve when faced with what they can't understand. Sorry, that was a mouthful...
