We are looking to tour the UK in 2014 and just looking for advice, feedback, contacts, support, etc in advance. ID_VIP_Team: I am looking to chat with people from Europe (especially UK) and the States of New York, Georgia & Texas about your local music scenes. I am blessed to be surrounded by a multitude of extremely creative individuals and I am humbled by their insights into life, their ingenuity in the face of adversity, their gift of finding solutions in the midst of chaos, and their wisdom in seeing the value of each moment of each day. If the world does not notice you right now... just know that I do and there are many more people like me out there that see what you bring into the world. It's loving yourself that is hard... it involves accepting that you are human and have made mistakes and learning from those mistakes so you can grow from them... it involves loving the things that make you different from everyone else and embracing those qualities... and in the end... You just need to stop, be quiet and listen to your heart. Your heart is your compass to making decisions that are true to who you are as a person. In the end, you just have to be brave enough to follow it! ~another hiccup from the mind of The Happy Ho ID_VIP_Team: Joey Welshman – Nokturnal/Ill.escape Scholarship Joey Welshman aka Joey Nokturnal or Ill.escape was many things to many people. He was a DJ, son, brother, friend, supporter, mentor and for most he was an inspiration. His sudden passing as a result of a tragic motor vehicle accident on Saturday October 15, 2011 at the age of 23 left anyone connected to him feeling a sense of loss. This scholarship is intended to ensure that the attributes that shone so brightly in Joey are celebrated, encouraged, fostered and promoted. This is a lasting legacy as to what one good person can inspire in the actions of others. This scholarship is intended for any Canadian musician pursuing Post-Secondary Music studies. You must have an EPK (Electronic Press Kit), recorded samples of your music, and have proven public performance experience to apply. This is open to any electronic music artist or singer/songwriter. This scholarship is meant to support the endeavours of musicians who: 1. Require financial assistance to pursue their Post Secondary Music Education. 2. Demonstrate the ability to create original music that appeals to an audience. 3. Perform in public to build a fan base and promote their music. 4. Mentor, support and encourage other musicians. 5. Act as a role model for others to follow. 6. Actively work with and support organizations in the music community. Individuals interested in applying should provide an essay explaining why they should receive this scholarship based on the criteria above. This scholarship will be a gift of $1,000 with 50% of the funds being issued on September 1 and 50% being issued January 2 (or the next business day where applicable). The top 10 applicants will be announced August 1 and notified personally with further information.
