Hi Guyz and Gals

Sorry I haven't been around much - certainly miss you all!!! Computer crashed, hubby on reduced working hours (had to share the computer with him arghhhh!), loads of bad weather and then having to make lots of repairs around the house. Got a new job which means I now work seven days a week - I actually have three part time jobs which means on the days I have free from one job I work at the others!!! Life is not boring, but extremely tiring - and because I just started the one job I am not entitled to holidays at the moment so I am just on the go. I am thinking this is too much for an old lady, but I have to grin and bear it for the time being.
Just hope you are all okay, sorry I won't be able to catch up on all the news, but I hope I will have more time to be around here sometime in October.

Speed Queen!!!

I got my first speeding ticket on Friday I have been driving now for ... ... years and I never managed to get one
I was drving through what they call a village - I was doing 64 kph when I should have been doing 50 kph - got fined €35 - serves me right - I shouldn't think I need to qualify for Formula 1
I asked the police officer if he was sure as I never thought my car actually goes that fast! Ah well, first time for everything - zooooooooom

I was tagged (ages ago!!)

I was tagged ages ago (thanks by the way to the taggers) I have been giving it some thought and have really no idea what I should write that could possibly be of interest. But out of respect for my friends I will make an attempt

1. Best thing to happen to me : my son (now 29 yrs old)
2. The only thing I can remember of my childhood that made me happy was when I was on the back of a horse.
3. I have been a foreigner all my life - my accent fitted, my name didn't, then my name was alright, but my accent not - now both are wrong!!!
4. I am a pacifist and a wimp.
5. Things that I will never forget - the birth of my son, my hysterectomy, my ear abscess, my allergy to some medication, and being a refugee in my adopted land.
6. I love living by the coast.
7. I hate Winter (I mean the ones that I am going thru here in Austria!! )
8. I wanted to become an archaeologist or journalist - my mother didn't allow that!
9. Other choices of profession - policewoman or dancer - my height didn't allow that
10. I love reading (however, Computer has taken over my reading time!), I am a speed reader and therefore, can rarely tell you what I have read a week after I have finished the book
11. I admire all doctors and nurses.
12. I have never voted in my life so far.
13. Mother Nature is awesome and I have great respect for her.
14. I do not like driving (although I have to )
15. My favourite language is Greek, I would also like to learn Italian.
16. Wireclub is awesome and I am happy that I joined and found so many wonderful people

Snowfalkes are falling on my head!!!!

It is days like today that I wonder what the hell I saw in my old man that made me leave a warm and sunny Mediterranean climate, blue skies, refreshing breezes coming over a blue rippling sea, where when it was 15 C degrees plus, we thought it was a 'bit chilly'. Even in the 'winter' months one could take a lazy stroll along the beach. Yes, there was snow, but that was up on the Troodos Mountains and you didn't have to go if you didn't want to! I am about to go out again, for the third time today and shovel snow I realise with each passing year that it gets tougher and the aches and pains in parts of my body which I didn't know I had, take longer to go away

To shovel or not to shovel,
That is the question,
Whether 'tis wiser to shovel
5 times by 20 minutes or
Idiotic to wait and
shovel once till I can shovel
no more!!

2008 is almost over - it brought some new things for me and one of them is Wireclub. For that I am grateful because I have made some wonderful friends and it has given me more insight to our vast and wonderful world.
There are a few places on our planet that are not at peace, people still hungry and sick, homeless, suffering..... this saddens me when I think how much goes to waste or just into pointless projects (in my opinion) just to prove...... what???
I wish everbody a happy , peaceful and healthy 2009 and all the rest to come. Those who have goals, dreams, desires may they be forthcoming. Those of us (myself for one!) who maybe have reached their peak (for want of a better word!!) may we have serenity of mind and body!!

I have been having a few problems with my internet connection these past few days so I didn't manage to send all my friends a personal greeting. So this is to all those - my best wishes to you and your families and may 2009 be a great year - prosperous - happy - peaceful - fun and healthy.

Really Funny!!!!

Well today I really am a funny dwarf.... but I am literally a Wireite. I have three wires attached to various parts of my anatomy which in turn is attached to a ECG monitor which is straped around my waist, then I have one of the blood pressure thingies wrapped round my arm and a tube coming from that passing round the back of my head coming down attached to another monitor which hangs from my neck. The BP thing goes off every 15 minutes and each time manages to make me jump!!! I have be to hooked up for 24 hours so that means I have to sleep with these things - I have my doubts This will no doubt be another experience I can write in my memoirs

Gave up smoking

A couple of months ago my neighbour and I were chit chatting and he said he had got his results from the doctor, his back was in a bad state and his heart in an even worse mess. What did the doc tell him to do, that he should do a bit more walking exercise, cut down on the drinking and give up smoking. At this point my neigbour had a glass of wine in one hand and a ciggie in the other!! So why are you consuming both now. His reply was that he would be giving both up as soon as he died anyway. May he rest in peace - he died on Tuesday

Arghhhhhhhhhh......

If I do not appear on WC it will because I have definitely thrown the computer out of the first floor window!! I don't know if it's because it is old and decrepit or I am old and decrepit or combination of both Anyway, everytime I try and play the Videos, the 'thing' flatly refuses so I can't enjoy any of those - I tried once to import a youtube and the 'thing' went on strike for three days - had numerous viruses, bugs, wurms and other beasties crawling around in it's innards. I am usually a very calm and patient being - however - the 'thing' is testing both these attributes (the only ones I own!!) I am now going to quell my aggravation by going and sweeping and raking all the leaves that are lying all over the place

It's RAINING yet AGAIN

I spoke to my very best friend in Cyprus (ex home). The water situation there is drastic - the reservoirs have enough water (when rationed) for two more weeks. And it's peeing down with rain here!!!!
