This can never change until the federal government starts enforcing our immigration laws, and New Yorkers stop being so generous to illegal aliens. And neither one of these things are likely since they would require voting for Donald Trump, which is something they just cannot do. Until that happens, NYC will be a magnet for every poor person on the earth by offering them free food, free housing, free debit cards, and lax enforcement of criminal codes. Things happen for reasons, and NYC has made this happen by providing plenty of incentives for it to happen. And when NYC finally decides to "crack down" on these illegal aliens, it will just create a conflict with neighboring states, because they don't want NYC to transfer their problem to them. The real solution is a change in national policy, and that cannot happen as long as New Yorkers refuse to vote for Republicans. The irony of all this is that New Yorkers aren't stupid people. They are among the best educated people on earth.
