 Friends   |  flmt: My newest nephew decided to enter the world today. Vincent Lee is 5lbs 3ozs and 18.5" long. The sweetest most handsome baby boy. I now have 7 nephews and 1 niece. We found out today that he has a small hole in his heart. He will stay and be monitored until he starts eating better. Time will tell if the hole will heal itself or it he will need surgery in the future. We are hoping it heals itself. He has mild Downs Syndrome. That is unconditional. We got good news this morning. My middle sister stayed last night at the hospital helping with Vinnie. Monitoring blood sugars, body temps, etc. Yes, she is an RN. But if these things didn't stay up he would have been taken to the NICU. However, he did very good last night. Breast fed every 2 hours, a bottle in between and then all of other monitoring. He was a bit cranky, but did very well. Cardiology came back this morning. The hole is tiny and they expect it to heal itself. So as long as everything stays up and good. Mom and nephew will be going home Friday!!! That just tells you how stubborn he will be. He comes by it honestly. 8 years ago • Reply • Report 0 |
