I broke the sky today

I broke the sky today, accidentally but with great heaviness, aware but unaware of the gravity, I held it closely as I fell back against the earth. It flowed into my eye its silk dagger weeping cold blue deep into the source of my foolishness. In the trembling distance a sliver of silver danced, a water bird white in the sun hovered thermal play at the limit of my vision dipped in and out of oblivion, then lost itself in the overlapping tip of a super blue spruce in my yard, of which it is unaware, but which is my favorite in a row of seven. Who lurks behind my dancing ashes? My sky moves eastward in a procession of snakes that bind themselves to the head of the Goddesses.
