A_Muse_Mint101: Peanut the turtle is a clear reminder that cleaning up after ourselves is of the utmost importance.

In her youth, the turtle became trapped in the plastic rings of a six pack. As she grew, her shell grew around the litter, until it was shaped like a peanut. She was discovered in Missouri and taken to the zoo, where she received medical attention. Though she is extremely disfigured, experts say she is in good health. If this had happened to a different animal, the plastic would have dug into the skin, and the animal would have likely died of infection.

Please clean up after yourself and dispose of waste properly!

AshBRAT: A couple weeks ago, some friends and I were floating down the river in dingys, when one of them spotted a seagull that was trapped because it had a plastic bag twisted around it's leg about 25 times. We paddled up to it and rescued it. That's my story.

AussieOi: In my view capitalism drives this throwaway culture as the push is always on to spend more, waste more and chew up more resources. The secret is not so obvious but this drive will make resources cost more. Businesses won't miss out. Chew through everything and trash everything. Make rarity of everything. Even turtles cost more in Asia now due to rarity. More profits Yeah until the well runs dry.
