COLLATERAL DAMAGE

"For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither anything hid, that shall not be known and come abroad." Luke 8:17

At the enactment of the Illegal Immigration Responsibility and Reform Act of 1996 (IIRRA) Bill Clinton was president and Janet Reno Attorney General. The catalyst for the legislation was the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

Since its inception, few terrorists have been detained and deported in comparison with the hundreds of thousands of legal and illegal aliens that have, some of whom are veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces and patriotic Americans, albeit non-citizens.

Insofar as the foreign born population in the U.S. has doubled from 6.2% in 1980 to 12.9% in 2009 (See, World Almanac and Book of Facts 2015), the majority of which hails from Latin America and Caribbean, the U.S. Government craftily exploited a perk by shifting its priority and aiming its radar at a group not even remotely as nefarious as its originally intended target (terrorists).

The September 11, 2001 attacks on American soil provoked further measures of national protection with the inception of the Patriot Act and Homeland Security, which in turn engendered more stringent, inflexible revisions of immigration laws. As a consequence, more PEOPLE are condemned to an ultimate separation from loved ones at an exponential rate by a government which purports to be "of the people, for the people."

The U.S. Government has deceitfully and cleverly crafted a stratagem for controlling its foreign born population. Its citizenry, but for the few insightful, empathetic, and compassionate ones resisting the hypnosis, is desensitized by xenophobic propaganda and made to accept a cruel reality with indifference.

Americans do not consider the "perfect storm" being created by its government. Hundreds of thousands of (citizen) kids are losing parents as a result of this egregious Machiavellian agenda. These children will grow up resentful of their government, as will their own children, their children's children, and so forth. One day they will rise. Some will go into politics to try and change things. Others will bear arms to try and change things.

Americans need to wake up and bear witness to the callous inhumanity - to show at the very least a scintilla of compassion for those who walk in different shoes.

Families are torn apart. People suffer. I suffer.
