Mr.P was in violation of the law and deserves to be charged. End of story or it should be. But it's not and the American media latched onto this like a feral kitten on a chicken nugget. One sound bite out and Canada looks like 1930's Germany. Imagine a world where the former president was knowledgeable about the pandemic and treated it seriously. We would have had this kicked globally by last August. He didn't care and the numbers are blood on his hands. We are the church. Not a building, not a group of people. If you really believe and trust God then you are connected 24/7/365. It is that simple. The churches I attended were already online before the pandemic so elderly members could attend. It doesn't lessen the worship. It's been a blessing for members who have to work on Sundays. My biggest concern with him is his obvious disregard for law and the overtly overemphasized dramatic arrest. He seems to be suffering from PTDS in regards to law enforcement, understandable but not the behaviour of someone who is supposed to be a community leader. I think he needs a psychologist review before he is allowed to be in charge of a ministry. If you come to Canada obey the laws. This should be clear to him. He is playing the victim when his actions were dangerous and disrespectful to his fellow Canadians he claims to love. He deserves to lose his non-profit status. If an organization including churches breaks the law they can lose it. The Alberta healthcare system was overloaded before this. By limiting our contact we are taking the strain of the workers. I find it so disheartening people don't see this or call it fake. The basic fact is he broke the law. End of story. Nobody was saying not to worship, the government has been trying to not break our hospitals. What happened in India could still happen here if we don't keep trying to be responsible. Fox News can sensationalize this and try to turn him into something he is not. He is not a victim. Sonlife Broadcasting and other American churches can call Canada evil socialists. That is fine, you don't need non-profit status in Canada, You don't like us except for our money so leave. Their church promotes hate speech anyways and should be restricted. It makes all Christians look like backwards fanatical psychos who can more about money than Jesus. But hey, it's Alberta. It's embarrassing saying I am from there after all this.
