Cosmic Child: I saw something extremely disturbing in chat yesterday. A Jewish woman said that her first thoughts when 9-11 had just began, was how would people blame it on Israel. Just let that statement sink in.

Not about those who died in the explosion, not those stuck in the building. But how was it going to come back to her country. This is the perfect use of the words, selfish, self absorbed and even borderline sociopathic.

This is part of what religion does to people, and why those of us who are former members fight against it. It takes away from what makes you human in the end. And I am sure she did not realize how horrifying and ignorant her statement was, and that it gave her a feeling of being the underdog and justification for her beliefs.

Knowledge and understanding will be the death of ignorance.

Cosmic Child: One thing you will notice about certain monotheistic religious people, is that they lose interest in life after a while. They reach a point of indoctrination where they are so disinterested with anything but their own religion. Their own book is all they can bring themselves to read. They become blissfully ignorant of things even within their own culture. Husks. With a mind that never stops, I can think of nothing worse then stagnation like this. It must be intellectual hell. Which would explain how dumb most of them are, or will become.

Cosmic Child: One of the biggest problems I have with talking to people is how difficult certain things which I find easy are for them to understand, and how dishonest they become when out of their knowledge. I was typing with someone about astrophysics and the concept of infinity, they kept wanting to use it as a system of measurement, which is a natural thing for the human brain to gravitate toward. I was trying to explain how this doesn't work as infinity can not be measured, there fore it can not be used as a system of measuring other things. Like distance. I can always see when someone is getting uncomfortable that there might be someone who knows something they don't, and I was generally trying to help better their understanding of the concept. But they thought it better to point out the oddities in my type as opposed to others type. I mentioned that I was an autistic, as a hook to see if they would be as childish as I perceived them to be. They swallowed the hook line and sinker, calling me spock and making demeaning star trek jokes. At least we know watching Star Trek doesn't increase your knowledge of astrophysics, or general intelligence for that matter.

I use this as an example of dialogue with autistics and about being intellectually dishonest. If you don't know something, it's okay. Learn from those around you, and fact check it with experts in the field. And when in dialogue with me or other aspies, be honest. We can tell when you are done with having an intelligent discussion and will systematically destroy you if we deem your attitude childish and unfitting of a member of our species.
