They turn a simple common sense idea into a long book and huge class about semantics of how they break it down. It's kinda ridiculous. Sure I get it, but they have so many stupid words that depend on the definitions.
Class should be called Common Sense 101
My textbook spends half the time telling you what he is going to tell you. In this chapter I am going to tell you that a random sample is random. Ok now it's time to tell you that a random sample is random. A random sample is random. Now you know that a random sample is random, so lets look at what a simple random sample is... yadda yaddda yadda.
In this book we are going to talk about statistic, in chapter one we are going to talk about yadda yadda but in we will explore it in more detail in chapter 4, but right now you only need to know that yadda yadda is random, and then in chapter 6 we are going to talk about even more detail about what random means. In this chapter we are going to talk about what is in chapter 5 but we are not going to fully examine it until chapter 10. and every chapter keeps going on like that. The first part of each section is about the section and the chapter and what he is going to tell us in other chapters.
I swear this 800 page book would be about 20 pages long if he cut out all the repetition!!! Stop telling me what you are going to tell me and just tell me already. or does he not know? This author must have had a rough childhood where nobody ever listened to him.

Another problem with my book is it tries to tell you how to do something before defining the terms you are using to do it first. He tells you what he is going to tell you, then he never tells you what it is until after telling you what to do (if you are lucky).
Also, the problems at the end of the sections refer to problems in other sections which refer to data sets in the appendix or other sections, and by the time you finish your easter egg hunt, half the day has gone by just to add 2 + 2 = 4
