ClassicCarTunes: Windows 10 has this annoying thing about it: it only remembers the LAST window size and position that was closed. So if you want one folder to have a certain position and size it will reopen to forget it: Windows uses the LAST folder size and position to open that folder.
So I looked around on the internet for a fix, found a registry setting that could be done, did it and then applied it by rebooting. Result: my system slowed to a crawl.
I was setting the number of folders that Windows would remember to a number above the default. In this case, 10,000. So I changed it to 5,000 and the same result happened.
Its a shame really as Win XP had no problem doing this and no system slowdown whatsoever. I guess Windows 11 has the same problem too.
I am going to have to give up trying to find a solution for this for now but just warning anyone out there that if you decide to "tinker" with your system be careful.
Microsoft goofs things up better than any company out there. Well except for the big Three automakers maybe .
