ClassicCarTunes: The next time a Democrat calls our party "the party of the priveleged" just whip out this picture!
ClassicCarTunes: So now TWO judges are looking to close down the NRA over charges that the leadership is corrupt. Now there may be something to this. But the next thing you know they will be telling us that Smith & Wesson are corrupt, Ruger is corrupt and so on.
I have never seen the court close down Ford, Chrysler or GM over corruption. Like back in the 50s when they would wipe out the competition using crooked means.
Since when does an org get closed down because of its leaders? Oh wait, judges are never corrupt but if they are I guess that means we need to close down the US justice system if they are. Right! Good logic here!
ClassicCarTunes: I am for the American people. I really am. So would someone please tell Pres. Trump that we don't wear wool over our eyes!
ClassicCarTunes: "had to shave" I said in a chat room as I came back from a room break to shave my face.
Followed by some Pharisee person saying something like this:
"Oh my bf would never shave his chest - I don't go with young teens"
followed by me saying:
"Well hey, i was shaving my FACE!"
All the person had to do was ask me to clarify my statement .. and I would have jokingly said, "Oh I had to trim off some hair from my loins!" and had the room in hysterics.
Don't judge without the correct information. And if ladies don't shave their legs who am I to judge that too! In America its a cultural thing to shave legs .. In Europe .. not so much but then again, maybe that has changed ...
In the end .. who cares? I shaved my face and its smooth!

ClassicCarTunes: Yes, so even though this map does not show anything east of Montana and Wyoming it has spread to the east coast now in smaller amounts. We are supposed to get a really good breeze on Thursday that we all hope will blow most of it out of our area. Just hoping that the same winds do not help spread the fires more.

ClassicCarTunes: Ronnie "The Lurking Vulture (think "Snoopy up in the tree" from Peanuts cartoon) ... there was a half wall separating the dinning and kitchen from the front room and Ronnie would perch on the corner of it and wait for us to go by. WHACK if you were not careful he would get ya
ClassicCarTunes: Diana Rigg - British actress who was in The Avengers TV series - passed away. RIP
ClassicCarTunes: Please be thinking about Chickabooms up there in N.California with the fires so close. She has had to abandon a home once before (5 years ago) and I am really hoping she doesn't have to do that again.

allaboutbeck: Chicka, I hope you and yours are safe. Thinking of all the people in California. I have a niece there, too. Also, bless all of the firefighters, fighting those fires and trying to save homes and people in need.
ClassicCarTunes: My friend, Bob, from SoCal, says that his cousin, who lives in Medford, OR, lost their rental home. Everything was lost in the home. They must start over again.
One thing I suggested to him was to have the family put together a digital photo CD/DVD of family pictures. For me: the ladies suffer the loss of a home fire the most. All of those precious things gone for good. Pictures from family go a long way to bringing back a sense of "home" when they get a new place to live. Its never the same but it dulls the loss a bit.
ClassicCarTunes: I found an old favorite album of Classical Guitar music by John Williams (not the guy that does orchestration for movies). Its now available on CD and I will order it in a week or so.
Here is one of the tracks from the album:
ClassicCarTunes: People ask me "why don't you have a car?" Well the answer is simple: cars are expensive to own and operate. There is not only the expenditure of insurance, gasoline and maintenance but also smog certs, payments (until paid for) and the fact that I really do not need a car as I work from home and use Instacart and DoorDash for my food options. I honestly would love to live on an island like Catalina where a car is not needed.
I still love to take day trips and the occasional road trip but its expensive to own a vehicle. In the past vehicles and dentist office trips were a prime reason why I had little discretionary money to spend.
A lot of the younger generation in the cities is going to using public transportation (Uber/Lyft as well) and I understand their concerns. Vehicles are very expensive to buy. Even a used car is going to have a high interest rate causing the final price to balloon in cost. Example: My 1990 Olds Cutslass was $9000 on the lot but with financing, maintenance and insurance over a four year period of time it cost $16,000! People forget that there are hidden costs as well to a vehicle that arise. You have to add in towing costs for the occasional breakdown and also the locksmith if you get locked out.
In 2010 I sold my 2002 Camry and from there on out I have not had a vehicle. Yes, I miss the ability to just get up and go but the bicycle is a nice option. Plus I have Uber/Lyft at my disposal for in-town trips. (from 2011-12 I lost 38lbs riding the Greenbelt here in Boise.
I estimate that I have saved myself $20,000-24,000 in vehicle costs over that 10 year period of time. My health precludes me taking the jobs that I can get these days (mainly driving jobs ... the old brain just doesn't want to have to deal with decision making as a bus driver ...)
My family is no longer close and while I miss seeing friends they are very busy people. We see each other at church or stay in touch by phone or email. I stay very busy with work plus I need to rest. So there you have it.... I am enjoying life and while I would like to own a vehicle its just not worth the cost for me. My work does not pay enough but its what I enjoy doing. Once I can collect Social Security in 2.5 years I will be able to rent cars more often.

EyzzBrown: Insurance alone is so expensive! Having a car for me is a must, especially when daughter was sick and I was the one taking her to all those appointments. Have to admit, this past year I have been driving a lot less. Sure don't miss the LA traffic!
Keith... what is is they say? What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!
ClassicCarTunes: Gal shows up in a guy's PM ... she says, "I'm bored." His response is, "Well shoot me your number and we can see where it goes from there."

ClassicCarTunes: Honestly, if I came to a house and a nude lady answered the door, no matter what she looked like, and said, "come on in and have sex with me," I would turn her down.
There are still some of us guys out there that do not fall over backwards, drool at the mouth, and get down on all fours on a leash when a naked lady comes around.
I have class and I am not a mindless sex puppy.

ClassicCarTunes: Oh for goodness sakes ... do I look like Charles Shulz? @BlondeySlappyStarr
Etoile - the soldiers have a mix of expressions with some of them being the kind that you would see when they would shout "Vive L'Emperor!" and others showing the grim reality of warfare. Our graphics artist (not Charles Shulz) has a flair for capturing facial expressions. He is in his early 80s and a great fellow.
ClassicCarTunes: Taking it easy today with the temps hitting 100F. Avoiding the Greenbelt to avoid the crazy crowds. Planning on taking a bicycle ride on Tuesday when the temps will be much nicer.
