ChuckH: Tomorrow is a special day for doing my Civic Duty - yes... ELECTION DAY 3!! With G-d's Help, maybe we in Israel will finally come to our senses and actually deign to have a real GOVERNMENT for a change!!!
ChuckH: I decided to keep my kissing booth (ChuckH Birthday Kissing Booth) open until Thursday night (tomorrow), and then deleting it...
Dare to go there... hehehe
ChuckH: So for my birthday I made a room: "ChuckH Birthday Kissing Booth" come over and make things "complicated" hehehe
ChuckH: <sigh> My bday is this Wednesday (Thursday too, on the Hebrew calendar), and I'm coming into it with a big shrug and a yawn.
Maybe this is a blessing? who knows...?
ChuckH: I turn 57 on 29Jan, so wondering what kind of trouble I can rouse up for the Big Day. And since the Hebrew birthday is just one day later.. I feel like stretching it out over both days... so we'll see what happens
eliapaulus: Good words. Just what i needed to read. Spot on, thanks Chuck. I look into the rooms for communication, something i have rarly in real life at home. But this is also difficult to be right understood. It was a great comfort to read what you wrote.
ChuckH: Hi All:
The Jewish High Holiday season is a time of year when it is appropriate to do some self-reflection, to think about what has been going well this past year, and how we can improve in the coming year and onward.
We make new friends. We have our successes. We also make our mistakes, and we have our falling-outs. Sometimes it is something we do; sometimes it is something we DON'T do. Sometimes it may not even be our fault, but nonetheless things go wrong, and it costs us friendships we happen to cherish.
There are also the uncomfortable good discoveries. Those are the ones when you discover that someone you thought was ok really isn't, and you find that you have to part ways with them. Or someone you originally think is a great person, you discover really isn't, and you back off from them because you know it's the right thing to do. Still... it hurts...
The worst ones - at least for me - are the mistakes we don't even realize we are making: Something is said, or put out there in cyber-space, and for reasons unbeknownst to us it comes across wrong, and it causes unintended backlash and people get hurt, when that is the last thing in the world we want.
In the end, for better or otherwise, people are getting hurt. And no matter what, that sucks.
To anyone I have harmed here, intentionally or by accident... If I have said or done anything to make you upset or hurt... If I have not been there when I should have been... Please forgive me.
No matter who you are, your situation or your preferences, when I come out here it is important that people are happy, and that whatever they are seeking, they are finding what they need to bring joy and true happiness in their lives. I know many here often come out here just to get that re-assurance, that little reminder that they are Awesome. That's usually what I try to do when I come out here.
As for me, I try to find that for myself too, and many of the friends I have made out here have helped me get there, sometimes in ways you don't even know.
Thank you all for creating a fun place to meet and be met. And for any Jewish friends out here, be inscribed and sealed for a Happy, Healthy, Successful New Year.
