ChefAbbath: I've waited awhile before making a comment about the George Lloyd shituation and the resulting riots, looting, and destruction. I believe the problem isn't Trump, much to the dismay of left wing media and Democrats. The problem goes much deeper than that.
The police force is to blame for some of what goes on. Lack of proper training and lack of accountability are the two biggest issues the nation's police force need to rectify yesterday. We need to teach our police officers how to remain calm during calls and how to best deescalate the situations they face. There needs to be an independent organization that keeps them all accountable for their actions and a zero tolerance policy that may result in criminal charges for officers who abuse their powers.
When you look at the areas that a majority of these crimes are committed, you see a pattern. The areas they occur are in largely Democrat controlled regions. Democrats need to step up and stop making excuses for Black America. We need leaders in place that model what a proper citizen is and support the family model. Most African Americans that commit criminal acts and end up in poverty are those who grow up without two proper role models(mom and dad) and who grow up without people who set expectations and give them guidance to achieve those expectations.
Now, Republicans...you're not off the hook either. You have a responsibility to condemn the racist actions and rhetoric of the Far Right. Any time a member of a racist group says or does something to cause harm to the minorities, you need to condemn the speech and actions and correct them in a loving manner. Do not make excuses for them either.
There's a verse in the Bible that goes "if My people, who are called by My name, would humble themselves and pray and turn from their wicked ways, then I will heal their land." If you don't believe in God, then it's best summed up as thus: If the people of the earth would humble themselves, ask forgiveness from their fellow man, and turn from their wicked ways, then the earth will be healed.
Rimmmy: It's got nothing to do with race, it tells u more about the people rioting. A 'cop' killed a 'person'. Simple as that. Now if the cop was black, and or the person killed was white or black... Would anyone react like this... No. Its all dumb shit
miilk: Either way, it's an issue that needs to be addressed. All of the back and forth opinions are nothing, really. People just barking to the world where they stand. I'm going educate myself and seek out my friends of color to help understand. If you do both, great. If you just bark online to feel the need to be heard and then go sit on your couch, you can fuck off.
ChefAbbath: Ugh, please don't make this a drama filled post. I was writing this as therapy to get all of my thoughts on the matter out so I can move on. Just be a good mother fucker, y'all.
Fernie_: This issue, sadly, is never going to be a non-drama filled issue. This is an emotionally charged topic, and no matter how you try to word things and seem neutral, someone is going to have a passionate opinion about it.
