had my surgery

I had the surgery... it went well but will not know if they got it all until the lab checks the mass that was sent down to make sure not e ven a microsopic cell was on the edges... sucks having to wait as if they find even one, I would have to go back in..

Since it had been infected and killed off some skin around the mass, I had about a 2 inch hole to be repaired. t They took the skin from my left thigh... Damn does that burn... It feels like a severe sunburn when I have to move.. Also Have to get up every 4 hours for antibiotic pill.

If that is not bad enough, I have to sleep more upright and that requires either 3-5 pillows or sleep sitting up on the couch... Since I toss and turn and push pillow away I have decided on sitting up and trying to sleep.. So far, that is making sleep so hard to get. lol


the mass was on the back side of the head so even makes sleeping harder when resting the head back on the couch or pillows.....

Well, as some know I was diagnosed with skin cancer on the top back of my head... a mass was growing and became infected causing me to go to the ER.

The biopsy revealed skin cancer but at least not the Big M... They believe it was caused from all the sunburns I have had on my head over the years due to very thin hair...

In less than 2 weeks I will have surgery to remove the mass... Lucky it is not deep and can all be removed surgically and no chemo or radiation treatment will be needed..... will have to have a skin graft to repair the open wound....

Please people, be careful in the sun... You may think nothing will happen like I thought.. but over the long term, one will never know what to expect.....

At least I am supposed to be just fine and dandy after the surgery so I am thankful for that......

Wear sunscreen and be safe.. even a hat if out in the sun for long periods of time.....
