Boldgo: Someone I know (in RL) has just committed suicide.
He has left behind 2 young kids. They know daddy is not coming back but they do not understand it.
He has left behind a wife to try and cope with it all.

It doesn't matter what it is, find someone to talk to about it - reach out.
Ring a help line.
There is always hope, there is a way. Look for it, find it.
-
Giving up isn't the answer - even when you feel defeated.
-
I can see his kids at the funeral. There are no words.

anneeway: A terrible tragedy. Some see suicide as act of cowardice but it is a true disease of the brain just like a cancer, cancer is not an act of cowardice. The bodies chemicals change our thinking, trauma, anxiety and depression can happen to any of us at any time. The causes could be anything from the food we eat to how often we laugh, how stimulated we are or how others treat us. For some it is genetics, others lots of bad news. Whatever it is, good news is that it can be treated and people can live happy content lives with the right care.
There is a place in this world for all of us.
Keep alert and check the signs in all your friends and family and ask the hard questions. RUOK day was just last week but should be every week.
Sorry you lost your friend Jeff
