paint a picture in your mind
mountains capped with snow
a vision you can take with you
no matter where you go

sketch an outline of lofty trees
elevate them to the sky
place a nest above the clouds
look through an eagles eye

slowly spread your feathery wings
descend yourself in flight
perch upon out stretched limbs
absorb the view in sight

scan across rugid terrain
for a vulture's meal
a life is lost a life is spared
with each life that you steal

precision is your Ali
your beak and claws are tools
if you miss your victim
your prey makes you the fool

life is full of obstacles
scavenger of the land
yet, you accept what you can get
without the aide of man
