College educated. Dentist. At the end of a long-term relationship with Robert, so not married. And yes, living with my parents here in Louisiana, back under their roof now since 2010. My choice...well my choice to stay and to move back when it was offered. The only one of my four brothers and sisters at home. Their house, their rules. And they do have rules. Lovingly strict/stern is the best description I can come up with. Good to have structure, boundaries and oversight in my life. I agree with that concept except maybe when I am caught misbehaving and thus facing a punishment, i.e. in this family that means a spanking and time in a corner and lectures and such as well as the possibility of being grounded. Just the way life works here. For sure my parents are strict....and traditional....and old-fashioned I suppose. They would be the first to agree. Their strictness has never changed and I hope it never does. I do respect that...a lot...and need that. My family does chat here including my older sister Connie (connieandphils), my younger sister Rachel (learning2behave), my niece Amy (aminolongerachild), my mother Marie (formersoccermom3) and my uncle Dan (keepitsimpledan). FYI -- no skype or zoom for me. I do have a presence over on facebook also.

Mind_Soother: Though your current home situation (e.g. parental rules and potential punishments) is uncommon, it is not totally unique. I am familiar with at least one other case where a similar dynamic existed. Regardless, if all parties involved are accepting of the environment, that is all that matters.

backntimejill: As I have told others here sir, my family dynamic is not for all families, but it works for our family....and for me. No plans to move out so no change on the horizon.
