attydallas3: NOT good, for those of us who still need the benefits, Oddie .. Many of us are self-employed and the economy for our sector of work has not picked back up yet, as far as I can tell .. And what self-employed person is going to take a job paying less than $12 hr. ? Who screwed things up with the program was the Trump administration at the very start .. They should have required that states verify that those applicants who are self-employed are in fact legit, e.g. with commercial leases, biz property tax statements, assumed name certificates, etc. Instead, the questions asked on the UE questionnaires were and are a joke - they don't even ask WHAT type of biz a self-employed applicant is in .. As a result, MANY fraudulent claims by people claiming they are "self-employed" i.c.s, We also need employers to raise wages to a livable amount, to truly help things along .. &:-) Paul

RED8218086: It's better to have an unemployed person receiving benefits and spending money,, than an unemployed person not receiving benifits and not spending money that can help the economy... and if you think the people that are unemployed a milking the system,, then pay them a livable wage,,,they will be lining up to get a job
