attydallas3: 133-Car Pileup in Ft. Worth Kills at Least 6 - This was SO horrible .. Many of those involved were nurses and other medical personnel on their way to/from work that a.m. shift change. Miraculously, NO children were involved ..
princessp1069: Hence Texans and icy roads don't mix! Yeah I live in TX however from PA and when its a wintery mix out you don't go out anywhere if its that bad.
Smitten_Kitten_ in reply to princessp1069: So true! But some people in texas can’t drive. (I live near Houston). Added to bad road conditions and crazy drivers, is a sometimes deadly combination. People in Pa are used to icy roads. (Lived there for almost 2 years) But everything you said was so very very true!
attydallas3: No, Carein .. they said it was just the iced-up highway and the fact that the private contractor the (state? county?) uses to maintain the roads in winter possibly not doing their job (i.e. putting down ice-retardant, etc.) .. Of course, they are denying that allegation .. A state-ordered investigation will get to the bottom of it eventually ... I never knew the gov. here contracts that responsibility out to a private co. We found out with our state prison system here too that was a BAD idea, and hence are now going back to the original way (as have the feds now w. their prison system under Pres. Biden). Bizes are in it to make a $$ profit , and so obviously they are going to cut corners/expenses any way they can so long as they think they can get away with it .. &:-) Paul
attydallas3: I would add that they do think, and some of the eyewitness videos seem to support, that some of the "lead" drivers were going too fast for the conditions, inc. that big Fed Ex truck .. .. &:-) Paul
