attydallas3: Joe Cocker - "Somthing's Coming On" (Live @ Woodstock) .. Wow .. Never heard Joe speak before, so had no idea until now that he was Brit Supposedly B S & T heard him perform this tune while they were also at Woodstock and were so impressed by it that they decided to do a cover of it themselves on their subsequent album. Too bad they couldn't jam together on it at Woodstock! (btw, LOL @ "Joe's gyrations" .. esp. the "air guitar" and "air keyboard" movements - he really FEELS every note being played
).

attydallas3: Well, after a little research, VH, I couldn't find anything about Cocker ever being in such an accident. Apparently, that spasmodic thing was just his "style" on stage .. In fact, John Belushi did a parody of him on SNL (over)doing it .. (Cocker was asked what he thought of the skit and said he found it "hilarious" ):

attydallas3: Was reading about Cocker's demise .. He passed just a few years ago of lung cancer @ 70. He said he smoked 40 cigs a DAY (one media source reports it as 80!) but quit in the early '90s. For once, I guess quitting didn't make any difference .. &:-( &:-) Paul

attydallas3: Was telling a friend of mine about this yesterday and she revealed to me that her father would smoke a CARTON in a 24-hr. period. WTH??? .. He would just light one cig with another one and keep going, chain-style .. (and no, oddly he didn't die of lung cancer but of pneumonia). &:-) Paul

averyhappywoman54: Dally, guess what....like your going to know..lol. Woodstock 2 has been moved to Columbia Maryland which is about 1.5 hrs from me....I'm thinking about it. I'm not sure who they have secured to play there but I heard some of the musicians refuse to play anywhere else but in the original spot.........we will see.

attydallas3: Wow, I just saw that and was gonna tell you about it, VH .. Yep, the scheduled musicians are dropping like flies, both the "oldies" and the more "recent" artists .. It will only be a one-day event as a result, and that venue only holds about 20,000 people. &:-( &:-) Paul

attydallas3: btw, the problem is that many of the artists have contracts with their different recording cos., managers, publishers, etc. that provide they cannot perform in an area that is within "x" # of miles of certain other artists or venues that they already are scheduled to play at. I can't believe the organizers of Woodstock 50 didn't think to take that "complication" into account when they changed the venue site. &:-) Paul

averyhappywoman54: No but I was contemplating buying a ticket with it being so close to me, so now the 2nd one is doomed. Who were the producers of the first one, same people were going to do the 2nd one, if their not too old now??

attydallas3: I think at least one of them was involved in promoting the new one .. Anyway, maybe next year they can plan more carefully to avoid the same issue that doomed this one .... &:-) Paul

averyhappywoman54: Phil Spector was the guy I was thinking about. He was a huge promoter back in the day. Wonder if he had anything to do with Woodstock?
