 | I lost my leg on January 09, 2007. I had cellulitis in my knee caused by a fall and due to an error by an intern i developed Osteomylitis and MRSA between my artificial knee and the bone. It then got into the bone and they had to take the leg. I spent 9 mos. in a rehab facility hooked to a wound vac while they tried to heal it. I was never able to have a prosthesis because they left the bone unprotected. Recently they went in and removed 3 in. of bone and wrapped it in muscle and tissue. I go on 09/13/19 for them to decide if my stump is long enough for a prosthetic. If not I'm bound to stay in my chair. That describes my amputation. To describe me, I'm 61, i love life and my family. I have medical issues but they don't rule my world. I'm interested to chat with people who are going through issues closeto mine, but also people who love life like i do and wish to discuss other issues. |
